dont think it really matters. the 2nd thread will probably die soon since people are used to the old one. the old one does have over 6000 posts tho, and alot of the pics dont work anymore, so its not so useful. maybe merge the v.2 with post crash v.1 and well be minty.

I think it would be a good idea to have a new one every season or so, or at least once every 6 months. That way it isn't so incredibly long. And I dont know, it just ssems better that way.... all te pics would stay working.
