Have a question about New Balance's current pricing in Japan...

 

It was yesterday I could shop at ABCMart and score a

discounted or new released 574 for ~Â¥4,000~5,000

 

A few years ago I heard something about them not manufacturing

in China anymore, but I lost track and was going to buy some new pairs

today only to find out they doubled the price if not more.

 

If you have a clue, let me know thanks!

2. Doubled the price of what? The higher numbered "made-in" NBs have always been in the 20k - 30k range.

What is an approved list of NB's? You mean like the 574's are not manufactured by NB?

 

Double the price: The 574's I would normally get for about ¥5,000 on sale are now between ¥9,000 and ¥13,000

As far as I remember Chinese made 574 are around 800-10000Â¥.

American/UK made run between 15000-25000Â¥.

Well, the last 5 pairs of asia NB574 I bought at ABCmart between 2007 and 2009 were between Â¥3,900 and ~Â¥5,500 on sale. Now they are approx. Â¥9,200 for the same shoes and even when they're on sale they never go down to Â¥5,000 anymore. 

That's why I asked if anything changed in their business or manufacturing.
