Damn... so the 12's are basically the 11/13's but with the slub denim? only 1.5 months in on my flatheads but definitely want to get the 12's next

Yeah, the 12's have the same denim as the 7's and have the 11/13 cut.

A few fit pics of the xx-013 in 28 OW. As a skinny dude with a tiny waist, I sized them according to how the top block fit. I once had a pair of the xx-013 in 29 OW where the butt stretched out way too much and became quite unflattering while the thighs remained relatively tight. That prompted me to sell them. I hope to see just a little bit of stretching in the thighs after wearing them longer (They've had less than 3 weeks of real wear).

My 24-007's , 4 months and 2 soaks

auDyWPC.jpg

Fun fact about female Hyenas (or at least Alpha Hyenas) they have enlarged clitoris that stick out up to 7" from their bodies. They are also extremely agressive and have been known to mount and often times rape smaller weaker males to display dominance.

Here's a fun article http://www.livescien...-hyena-sex.html

XX-012, 1 week

How's the fit?

Nice fit! But I would say they need a hem. A little too much stacking (as I personally prefer a little less!).

By the way, these have an indigo weft... Don’t you have blue legs at the end of the day? :P

the 13 are also the slub denim. The difference is that the 12's have the indigo weft. Basically 12 is to 13 as 7 is to 5

Yeah, the 12's have the same denim as the 7's and have the 11/13 cut.

That means you could get these fades: CLICK

I think PBJs fade better than any other brand. Gotta stop sleeping on the 12s and grab them before they are sold out.

Thinking about getting the xx-003's . Does anyone have any fit pictures? I can't find any here but the measurements look good for my body type. I have an athletic build and I am tired of my thighs being strangled. I considered the 005's but in a #30 the thighs are 11 inches and I need 11.5 to be comfortable.

Hey that's mine =P

Well, nice pair you got there! Did they retire since then or did you develop more sweet fades?

Hey guys, looking to get a pair of XX-013. Are BiG and PBJ the only retailers for this model? And-Japan, Take5 and Okayama Denim don't sell this model, BiG is out of size 30 and 31, and PBJ doesn't ship internationally.

Moreover, the measurements on the PBJ site of XX-013 differs slightly from the XX-013 measurements on BiG. It matches closer to the O/W measurements of BiG. I assume its just slight differences in the way of measuring? The model is listed as "XX-013 Shrunk To Fit". At first I thought it was a typo and they meant shrink to fit i.e. raw, but due to the measurements I guess they mean its already been shrunk i.e. one wash???

http://www.purebluej...p/archives/4537

The leather patch of the XX-013 differs on the BiG website and the PBJ website as well. Are they the same models then? Might try get it through proxy if I have no other options and don't wanna fuck up the sizing. Also... does O/W mess with the fading? Is it generally better to go raw? Or is there no real difference? I remember on the Skulls thread Kiya said one wash process Skull jeans go through really weakens the denim; I'm not sure about the one wash process of PBJ denim.

Thanks and sorry for all the questions.

I believe BiG started out with this model as a collaboration exclusively for them but now the X13 is available to other retailers. This may account for the different patch which is now made of deer skin.

It's really a question of preference whether you go for raw or one wash. Lots of PBJ fans like to see the denim in its raw state and have influence over how the jeans are then soaked.

We have just stocked the X13 raw. We only have the 29,32 and 36. As this denim is only loomed a couple of times a year I need to wait for the next run in May to re-stock all the sizes.

If you've been waiting for months and are dead-set on it, it might be worth shooting Gordon an email to see if he knows when the next run will be coming out. As we all know, these things are usually limited by how frequently the mill produces the fabric

Congrats on finding a pair!

Just out of curiosity, did Gordon have any info to share with regards to when the next run might be out?

gdihunter - those look really cool, but you're delusional with that asking price. A few bucks more gets me my own brand spanking new pair ready to fade/form to MY OWN ass...

you realize theres clearly a market or faded jeans right? or else 90% of the world wouldnt have jeans to wear to begin with

if someone were to spend $300+ on true religions or other crap, these would be much better

The prewash & faded PBJ I saw at DC 4 looked pretty "real" but cost 500 bucks. Good thing was, the creases were set in to keep on fading. Not saying those prices account for used models (nor would I pay them). The salesman said, they get taken by dentist who dont have time to fade their jeans :D

Disagree. A new pair of artificially pre-faded jeans have the clear advantage of not being on the verge of blowing out - as the above example clearly is. This point notwithstanding - I have a hard time seeing what makes these better even from the authenticity standpoint. Fact is, if YOU fade them and then I buy them, it is at least as inauthentic as if I bought a pair of pre-fades. To me, your jeans are, in fact, PRE-FADED!!!

^agree with most of your points.

The appeal of buying a pair of raw jeans is fading them. The journey is more important than the destination in this example. If all someone cares about is how the end product fade looks, then by all means buy pre-faded jeans. However, I have never seen or met anyone willing to pay MORE for used jeans someone has worn for a year or longer (I remember APC sold pre-worn jeans that other's actually wore and sold at mark up prices. I believe you could turn in your pair of APC for a discount on a new pair).

But hey, if someone wants to pay more for a used pair than a new pair of XX-007, mine is up for grabs too =P

Cleaning out my closet for stuff I don't get to wear as often!  Willing to accept offers.
      1. Himel Bros. Brimaco Raider Cafe Racer - $1750 plus shipping
This jacket is absolutely insane. Tagged size 36, fits like S. Made with 100% genuine Shinki tea-core horsehide that will gradually fade from deep black to a gorgeous brown as it ages. Weighs in at around 5 pounds and is built to take an absolute beating. Deadstock Lightning zippers, bi-swing back, and of course the absolutely unparalleled quality that David Himel is known for. If you know leather jackets, then you'll know that this is the creme de la creme. Retails for $2450.
Worn lightly and still has plenty of breaking in left to do. It's a shame that I have to sell this as it's just slightly too small for me. Would totally be interested in trading for another leather jacket of similar quality in a larger size.
      Description from Himel's website:
"The Raider jacket is an homage to one of the greatest café racer jackets ever made. Brimaco or British Mfg. Co of Montreal, Canada designed this iconic jacket in the 1950's after attending motorcycle races on the Isle of Man. The jacket has a distinctive British feel with a longer straighter torso and a simple clean back with bi-swing expansion gussets and a long chinstrap. We own so many originals of this great design that it barely required any tweaking, and this model uses our limited supply of original 1950's and 1960's Lightning zippers."
      MEASUREMENTS:
      P2P: 20"
      Shoulders: 17"
      Sleeve: 24.5"

Absolutely stunning M-422A flight jacket from The Real McCoy's New Zealand. If you know The Real McCoy's, then you'll know that everything they make is of the highest standards, from the material to the construction. This jacket is made with the finest goatskin and mouton fur and is built just impeccably. Faithful to the original details, but superiorly made.
      Measurements:
      P2P: 21"
      Shoulder: 17"
      Sleeve: 24.75"
      Length: 25.75"
      3. Needles/Nepenthes (Engineered Garments) Horween Shell Engineer Boots, resoled by Brian the Bootmaker - $1500 plus shipping

Needles (Engineered Garments) Engineer Boots made with genuine Color No. 8 Horween Shell Cordovan in tag size 9UK. I'd say they fit pretty TTS, although there is plenty of room for one to wear thicker socks.
These were picked up from the Nepenthes shop located in New York City. Needles is the sister company of Engineered Garments (both owned by Nepenthes). This pair has also been re-soled by Brian the Bootmaker (Role Club) and converted to his signature hand-welt. They're really fresh too - worn under 10 times. Truly an amazing pair of boots. Shell cordovan engineer boots are pretty hard to come by, especially ones made with Horween (most other shell engineer boots are made with Shinki cordovan).

Worn a handful of times, not really my style. No damage and in excellent condition. Fits excellent as either TTS or slightly tight as it's a slim fit with a hint of stretch due to the waffles knit pattern, though it's 100% cotton. Shirt is sold out in this size last I checked.

    • By Danny @ Rivet & Hide
      Hey all,

Welcome to Rivet & Hide. We are a London based premium raw denim store starting life online with plans afoot for a bricks and mortar home in the future.

We offer free shipping worldwide and our UPS account will ensure a fast and reliable delivery around the world.

I have been a SuFu member for years sharing thoughts, ideas and countless questions about denim and clothes that are made with heart and soul. This inspired me to set up and finally bring Rivet & Hide to life.

Some of the brands will be familiar to you but part of the concept is to bring new and less well known denim producers into the sphere and we have worked hard to get that balance right.

It has been a lot of fun meeting many of the people behind the brands and seeing their skills at work. We have clocked up many miles visiting them around the world making new friends along the way. A shorter trip through the Welsh valleys to beautiful Cardigan Bay to meet the Hiut Denim guys was just as rewarding. A special thanks for all the help and support from Giles & Paula at Ironheart UK and Anders Helseth of Steel Feather.

We struck gold with a Union Special 43200g which was sourced from California. It’s in mint condition and dates back to 1950. Any hemming requirements can be consummately fulfilled.

We have measured all our stock individually. We have not relied on suppliers or anyone else’s measurements. Our HOW WE MEASURE guide is based on BiG (thank you) with the addition of a hip measurement.

We offer a 28 day returns policy with full refunds. Shipping included.

      The launch brands are:

      Railcar Fine Goods
      Steel Feather
      Flat Head
      Real Japan Blues
      Hiut denim co
      Nudie jeans
      Obbi Good Label.

As we go into the Autumn we will be adding to our launch stock including some more great shirts from The Flat Head’s Winter collection, and introducing you to a new Japanese brand.

We are planning a launch party hosted by our friends at Kaffeine, Great Titchfield Street, in Central London in the Autumn and will give you the heads up closer to the time. You will be more than welcome to join us.

Feel free to ask any questions here or contact us at [email protected] or [email protected]
