fit is fine. hemming is an option but in th end your decision. how's the feel of the 24oz denim by PBJ?

I'll be sticking to those double cuffs!

The denim isn't as slubby as the normal pbj denim. But its super heavy and soft cos its one wash :)

What size did you get the one wash? BIG only had the size 32 of the 013, everything else was raw. I was a bit surprised at how soft and light that 24oz denim felt after a wash. Of course it still feels heavier than most lighter denim but not as heavy as the IH 666 which are only 18oz. That's why I didn't pull the trigger. If I'm getting 24oz denim, I want it super cardboard-y.

i have not had any experience with the ih 666 but for sure it feels thicker than the sam 710xx 19oz, might be due to the starch on them ih 666. I bought them tts. If these 24oz were cardboad-y i think i would have abrasions putting them on :D

I'll have to bring this up with the IH specialists because there is apparently something uniquely heavy about the 18oz denim Iron Heart uses for their 666 model. The store also had a couple of pairs left from the Samurai 24oz models so I tried comparing them too. The PBJ models raw were like bricks compared to Sammie's 24oz 500 model. But the PBJ o/w was uncannily still too soft and too light for a 24oz pair. That was the turn off for me. They had a hard time convincing me the one wash pair came from the same stock as the raw models. I expect a certain amount of softening after the first wash but this was ridiculous.

I can't wait to see how these fades come out. Get to work people!

I dont know about you, but from what I've seen and felt, this 24oz pbj is not light at all.

^When I also visited BiG I felt them, and they were stiff as cardboard, but they were not nearly as heavy as a pair of Strike Gold heavyweights. They were still heavy though.

Can't remember the regular 666's, but when I went to SENY to try the OD's on, they were not nearly as soft, or as thick as a pair of 19oz samurais. Let alone my 18oz S500JX-LR's.

CLARIFICATION -- I think my point got lost somewhere up there. My gripe is that these super rock hard, super stiff DRY 24oz models seem to turn all "coke dick" on you after a wash. BIG had one size available in both raw and one wash. Of course all the raws were scraping my skin off and making me sweat to get them in. Those aren't what I'm talking about. The ONE WASH pair was almost like cashmere (yeah this is an exaggeration but I'm trying to make a point), I've just never seen a 24oz jean lose that much of its stiffness in one wash.

^^All jeans soften with wear, and I think you'll find that one wash jeans have been put in the dryer, which makes them all 'floppy'. If you soaked them and air-dried, I'm sure they'd become viagra hard again.

sounds like a possibility although i've heard in japan they dry them they natural way under the trees.

Perhaps other stores but I don't think BIG does the whole wash and machine dry process. I've bought O/W from them before and there has never been this big a difference between the raw and O/W.

Denton, I machine dried my 009's and they are creasing beautifully

Today, I got into my first and hopefully the last car accident while I was sitting in the passenger sit, wearing my 009's.

Even during the moment of life or death situation, I was worried about my PBJ's getting bloodied...

In the end, no one was hurt. I ended up getting few scratches here and there, but none were bloodied. I just feel sorry for my friend..The accident was due to a speedy reckless driver.. not his fault..

We avoided the car comming toward us, and we swerved into a ditch and ran over a mail box. We almost flipped, but my friend managed to drive back on to the road, but unfortunately, we were going straight toward a guy on his scooter. My friend had to quickly turn his wheel to not hit the scooter, totalling the car as he drove into a wall of a roadside house.

I'm just glad that no one got hurt in the process. The road was clear, and there werent any kids walking on the side of the road.

I was glad to see my friend smile, laugh, and even joke around after the accident. He even found a car that he can immediately afford to drive. He's a tough guy.

Any way... What a shocking experience that was.

lucky you man, that's crazy, fretting over your jeans getting bloodied in a life and death situation. Anyway pic of those 24oz jeans with some shoes on and a couple of wears, and friend's 005 on the left.

  • 2 weeks later...

Anyone heard anything that pbj products sold outside Japan will not be called pbj but syoaiya? Heard my lady mention that it was because of failing to register pbj as a trademark and now someone else has? my lady is working for a store that sells pbj jeans.
