Pure Blue Japan

I would say go for the smaller size if you're after the tighter look, but be careful of over-shrinking. I wore mine for the soak so that the legs would shrink but the waist wouldn't (as much). It's the more painful option but I think it pays off in the end.

So many great shots of PBJ fades lead me to getting a pair of xx-005s today at Dutil. Well, they also gave me 20% off, so that helped. Threw them in the wash on hot to get the shrink out and put them on wet.

I guess I'm used to Iron Heart, but man, these sure stretched back out quickly.

Love the denim.

Yeah, PBJs stretch out stupidly fast. Makes them that much easier to wear right off the bat.

Good jeans indeed!

Type: XX-005

Worn for: 3 years, probably 13-14 months of effective wear

Washes: 7-8, first one around 6 months

It seems the denim starts weakening on the thighs. Some new crotch repairs should be performed soon too.

Had to restitch the bottom of the back pockets lately.

The sizing is a bitch - got a size 4 but as it turned out a size 3 would have been better. Now, I'm waiting for my size 3 to be shipped. If anybody is interested in a size 4 shoot me a PM...

Have a pair of 007's size 30 (fits a bit larger) and 011 size 30 (fits 29+30) for sale in the market place. Hoping to sell those to pick up either the 012 or 017. Preferring the tapered cuts lately and really itching for a blue or black dyed weft.

I had a dream last night that I bought a pair of PBJ Deep Indigo XX-009s in sie 30 and they fit perfectly. As soon as I woke up I checked BiG and the measurements look like they'd be perfect for me. I honestly can't even remember the last time I was looking at that model online, so it's kind of weird that I would have a dream like that - it's gotta be a sign right? I think I have to buy them now?

Recently picked up the Indigo Knit Hoodie from Rivet & Hide.  Many thanks to Danny for the help with sizing and his great customer service.  I really love the fit and the details of this hoodie, and am defintely looking forward to breaking this one in!

Just got my PBJ xx-012's. I'm a pretty disappointed that I may have to pass them up. I was told that they were way too loose in the top block, but too tight in the thighs for a hot soak. They are size 30 raw. Could you guys tell me what you think?

Tons of space in the waist..

Not a whole lot of space in the thighs..

Can this pair work for me? I can accept it my legs just wont work for these jeans, but I feel like there's no alternative to PBJ. I want them to work so badly.

The 12s stretch a ton. I went TTS and machine washed them right away to deal with any shrinkage. They stretched out past raw measurements in the thigh and waist. So the waist on those will be too big so a belt will be required and no way are those too tight for a hot soak in the thigh. Mine were even tighter at first and they were fine even then. Pretty sure you could easily go down a size on those if you wanted.

Man, even for pre-soak that top block looks pretty ridiculous and seem to belong to a person with a completely different body.  IMO the shinkage won't get you close enough to a wearable pair of pants.

It's hard to tell, but you seem to have room in the thigh, so I'd try sizing down at least 1.  Otherwise, I think the 009s are a fuller cut with a taper.
