Miscellaneous Musings (Limited Edition)

A girl I went to high school with died of heart failure last night. I haven't talked to her in a long time, but we used to eat at the same table at lunch and our big group of friends would go to all-ages shows in junior high.

I didn't know her that well, but fuck, what a shock. I'm in disbelief. Heart failure at 19 is tragic. Three people I went to school with have died in the last year and it surprises me how affecting death can be, even though I wasn't particularly close to any of them.

so i visit family in orlando every christmas.

my mom and i ask my uncle (her older brother) if he can drive us to laguardia airport on a early december sunday morning (6AM, to be exact) because our car can't fit all the luggage. he gets irritated and throws out a string of excuses like:

"i'll ask my wife first"

"why can't you drive yourself?"

"i don't know"

to give you some background, we've never once hesitated when he asked us for a favor or needed help. we ask him directly if it's a yes/no. he repeats the above excuses a few more times.

the final nail in the coffin is when he ends it all with, "you're paying for gas, right?" at this point, i can't believe what i just heard. my mom hurriedly says "of course." he just responds with, "i don't know. i'll see."

many of my other family members are exactly like this. i've learned the hard way that although you will always help family in a heartbeat, they won't do the same for you. i'm still half chuckling, half pissed that he even said "you're paying for gas, right?"

Your uncle sounds like a dick. I have similar family members who I've bent over backwards for. Yet if I ever need anything (and it's always minor cause I don't trust my family with major stuff) they always act like it's a huge inconvenience. I kinda have "disowned" many of them - mainly by moving far fucking away - and would like to write off the rest (except immediate family). A bunch of my loser cousins are redneck hillbillies anyhow.

signing the lease and getting the keys for my new flat today. can't wait to move out of the hellhole that is my old house. I smell a pest problem soon as I found maggots in the middle of the living a couple weeks ago. and now there are flys appearing everywhere.

the cause of this? my dumbass roommates would never take out the garbage unless I remind them. I wonder if once I move out, they'll realize I was the only one who ever cleaned regularly. every dish they leave out is blamed on me because I eat "more"?

and my favorite part will be when they finally realize that practically everything is mine. all the cookware, bowls, plates, knives as well as wireless router, dvd player, netflix account, and a million other things they use every single day.

I'm in a similar situation less the grime. Roommates have thrown aways pots and pans of mine, knives, destroyed so many of my belongings, once I move out life will be good (slightly better) again. Looking forward to setting up the new apt so much and buying new pots pans etc.

It's not too unclean at the old house but they don't quite finish cleaning.

Speaking of unfinished, I wrote in a previous post about how there is an insect problem. Well my dumbass roommate managed to vacuum all those maggots up which is pretty disgusting in itself but he leaves the vacuum cleaner filled with maggots in the living room and yesterday night, I see stuff moving inside it. I go up for a closer look and there's just hundreds of flies inside and they've been in there for the past MONTH.

best part? the same roommate who leaves the vacuum there tries to empty the vacuum in the living room. It's only when there are 5 people begging him not to that he finally takes it outside.

A few years ago my friend introduced me to these two girls who are sisters. The next day I heard in the news that they both died in a car accident. The whole school mourned and everything. It's really unfortunate, but when something like this happens, it'll make you appreciate life that much more

hahahaha I wish they would bump up my 2 week old thread :(

I love blowing the mind of this girl I work with when it comes to the contents of the internet. She recently found out about the deep web and tonight, a serbian film amongst other great things. God she's going to hate me.
