Got my 2 in 1 jacket today, way nicer than I expected it to be. I'm glad I got t for a total steal, but even retail seems reasonable for it

Hey, thanks for the reply - I'm looking for something a little more understated than that, don't really like the aesthetic of the Mechanix ones with the writing all over them.

I was thinking something like Arc'teryx LEAF or Outdoor Research

What colour way did you go for? I liked the look of the white one, but I'm trying to get an ACR jacket instead!

^^ I got the black with silver logos from last season. I actually like the branding a lot more in person than in pics. Will do a full review after a day or two of wear

Could anyone whos handled the new ACG funnel neck comment about it and recommend sizing for someone who's 5'7 150lbs 37 chest? I think I remember only one person here who just said it was interesting or something... Measurements on End and Firmament do not line up :/

I got the Lupinek flyknits in all black and love them. Does Nike ever put the Nikelab ACG stuff on sale?

Thanks,

Lance

I think it ends up at outlet stores.

Erlsn just tweeted me no shells for SS ACG, kind of a bummer. I also wish they sold the shells separately, would love the white shell, and also the long trench one but don't need 2 more insulators

Yeah, I'm in agreement, they should sell the shell and insulator seperately. I only want the shell, I don't need any more insulators

I think the shell is just too big from the back to be worn without it (or maybe even with it)

Anyone with white Lupineks can confirm they are slippery as the SFB?

(got a pair for christmas, a size too big so I have to return them and I am thinking about gettying the Hayworths - Antonioli claims they are Gore)

also if you consider buying Lupinek go with your ACR-LF1 sizing, they run big

Looking at the nike webstore the upper back looks as if there is expansion pleats (like on the original m65) but there isn't. Oh well, it still works the same. shiturbantechwearerssay

I don't kno why the color would matter... I have the blackout lupinek and they're slick as fuck like all the other sfb boots :) that said, I love them.

Absolutely size down or you'll be swimming in them

Thanks for lupinek sizing advice! Very helpful I was about to pull the trigger on one.

And also I can confirm the back shoulders of the ACG shell do puff out like that, doesn't bother me much, as movement is great in the shell.

jbob: sometimes changing the colour results in changing the properties as well. Natural rubber acts different than coloured rubber. And since I have no idea what the composition is it's wise to ask about the exact colour option;)

I have black lupineks and they are slippery for sure. I love them though. I got another pair of the defend water repellent black flyknits quickly online a month or so pre-ACG, and later realized it had the iridescent reflective material at toe and heel instead of all black. Like them ok, but the acg are superb. With nice leather and much more of a boot. My feet stay pretty warm in them too. I sized down a half size and they work well. I wear thicker merino socks even still with them i think with a thin sock it may be little loose fitting but not bad.

Tried the ACG cargo, Inversion LS, and beanie... Ironically the only thing I ended up liking was the beanie which is just a cheap acrylic beanie.

Cargoes are nice enough I think, especially for the price, but didn't fit the way I wanted. Just don't go expecting the world of them and if the cut is what you're after they're not bad at all.

Inversion LS was a total miss. Scratchy wool blend instead of their dri-fit wool which has a soft hand-feel and the rib pocket fits nothing useful unless you plan to keep a card/cash.

Beanie is a beanie, but it's cool.

^^ I think the shirts in general from the ACG line have been meh. I'm only interested in the bottoms and shoes at this point.

yeah i kinda regret my purchase of the inversion - already been washed and worn though so can't return! nevermind - so difficult to use the rib pocket too, barely fits my phone and it's hard to put an ipod in there.

Outta left field, but Aether stuff...people like?

Stores are cool to browse but from my experience the quality isn't great. I've never owned any of their jackets though, just tees and shorts and stuff.

I guess on that note - I'm looking for a performance merino wool sweater in a good thick layer. I'm torn between fashion brands like Howlin' and ultra tech brands like Aether/Outlier. I just want something versatile, which may or may not exist.

Or if you're open to other fabrics, Reigning Champ has some nice ones utilizing Polartec Alpha.  Good insulation and thermo-regulation, and still able to retain heat when wet, so it has similar features to merino.

Good call on Reigning Champ. In other news, Mission Workshop is pre-re-releasing (lol) their Bosun Jacket again. http://missionworkshop.com/products/apparel/jacket/merino-wool-bosun.php

I've worn the original for years and still have it; hiking, climbing, running, falling down cliffs...it's been there and everywhere. Love that bastard.

Love my MW district chinos. Only problem is they've lost 90% of their water repellency and after losing weight they are a size or two too big for me. Would love to buy a new pair but the CAD dollar is weak as fuk right now. Not paying $300 for them.

Had 2 pairs of slim dungarees but never worn them more than a week. Just didn't like how they felt, looked, and as a guy who puts his hands in his pockets a lot they just pissed me off for some reason.

What about these Vans with kevlar? Great in case I got shot in the foot (it happens sometimes).

Mmmmaybe the slip ons? The Half cabs are kinda ugly in a bad way.

Reebok did the Fury in kevlar + black, I like mine, there might be some on the internet left.

Putting this thing up, since I'm not wearing it, and it deserves just that.
This jacket is, as far as i can tell, a very limited production by Sakuto Motoike, son of leather leather sculptor Hideo Motoike from back in 08, when he did a line of very aggressive leatherwear that's quite counter to the americana (i presume) he does now. Line is now defunct.
Cows leather, silver bone buttons and cotton inners. Not sure about the sleve lining, but i assume it's cupro or something along those lines.
Bought it of the man who runs the CCP gallery http://theofficegallery.com on Cypress. It was from his private collection.
Retail price was 4000 euro for him, back when he bought it, though i don't remember where.
Worn very sparsely (say once a year) by me.
Asking price right now is 2500 euro, but offers are welcome.

Notice the spots here. A few more on the other side. Were there when i got it. Doesn't do anything negative to the look.

Will take more pictures for serious buyers and answer questions to the best of my ability.
From the same maker, but quite a bit later and in a different style period.
Size 3 desert boots, from before they started doing the more clunky look of the goodyear welt. Used quite a bit and rubbersoled a few times. Heel also rebuild a few times. No laces. Made of one piece of leather (tongue excluded).
Paid 600 usd for them back in the days, but it was including a very difficult shipping route (they didn't sell to people who weren't in store to try them)
