Stopped by the Arcteryx Factory Store today.

av-01.jpg

I only had my phone for a camera so pictures are not great. They had a small amount of Veilance gear for sale.

av-02.jpg

Everything was factory seconds, though not for particularly deep discount. They had the manila Field jacket in medium, large and XL ($995.00 marked down to $497.50), Stealth pants in 32 and 33 ($475 -> $332.50), Canvas Jeans in 32 & 33 ($400 -> $280), Field Pants in 32 & 33 ($450 -> $315), along with blazers, the duffle coat and the hooded one (I forgot what it was called).

So today I got caught in some rain and didn't have my shell on me, but since I was at an outlet mall I thought I'd run into the Columbia outlet and just grab a shell. Ended up getting a blue "omni-tech" hard shell that claimed to be "water proof and breathable". Well, the shell itself held up for about 10 minutes in the steady rain before I noticed that the water was soaking in, and the shape of the jacket made all water that was repelled slide down right onto my thighs completely soaking my pants.

Oh well, at least it was only $35 bucks

fit pics on the nomad hiker that's on sale at oki-ni:

Jacket is size L, I'm 6'1", 40, 33w. Fits bigger than other nonnative stuff I've tried, and definitely bigger than most jp brands

Outlier Parka got that raintest a bit earlier than expected (nyc downpour yesterday, no umbrella). Having never worn ETAProof before, exceeded my expectations, kept me dry and didn't notice any dampness. I especially like the hood/collar design.

Some droplets got in the envelope pockets but only because I was accessing them constantly (messing with music, pulling out wallet).

Mission Workshop's got some urbtech™ jackets up. Thinking about the bosun wool jacket as a midlayer between wool and some gore on top.

http://www.missionworkshop.com/products/apparel/

Any experience?

Also, anyone else on the Outlier vest preorder?

bought og pants from the sale. they're red.... tempted to dye them. how does it affect the fabric?

make sure the dye color is 100% natural. I have had bad experiences with chemicals on the fabric.

Not sure if the water repellent synthetic fabric will hold any kind of color too, because the most dye products are water soluble (but I am not an expert).

Anyone have experience with the nike selvedge chinos or know what the sizing's like? I've read they're water resistant, what's the weight/material like?

why do some techwear brands keep making blazers, and they keep beeing/looking badly cut?

Agree 100%

Oh was that you cmdR? Wasn't sure if the person in question was a member here haha. Nah you were steezing, though not sure if the vintageish umbro was too much on a contrast against the stark black of the acr. Fabric on the shorts looked real mad comfy compared to my pair in etaproof though. Still, gotta giver props for rocking all that in SG!

Thanks proteus :-) Yes the X-Fast stretch softshell fabric is amazingly comfy! Also very breathable, perfect for our weather. But for day to day use I still go for my etaproof ones, it's hardwearing and I like how it ages with every wash. Well, let's grab a kopi or something one day :-)

Oh actually mine's the one in Epic from further back, same design as the Set 2 shorts. It's my P5TS that's in Etaproof heh. Sure thing, will say hi the next time I see ya.

Putting this thing up, since I'm not wearing it, and it deserves just that.
This jacket is, as far as i can tell, a very limited production by Sakuto Motoike, son of leather leather sculptor Hideo Motoike from back in 08, when he did a line of very aggressive leatherwear that's quite counter to the americana (i presume) he does now. Line is now defunct.
Cows leather, silver bone buttons and cotton inners. Not sure about the sleve lining, but i assume it's cupro or something along those lines.
Bought it of the man who runs the CCP gallery http://theofficegallery.com on Cypress. It was from his private collection.
Retail price was 4000 euro for him, back when he bought it, though i don't remember where.
Worn very sparsely (say once a year) by me.
Asking price right now is 2500 euro, but offers are welcome.

"Discolourations" from the dying process. Unique in that way.

Notice the spots here. A few more on the other side. Were there when i got it. Doesn't do anything negative to the look.

Will take more pictures for serious buyers and answer questions to the best of my ability.
From the same maker, but quite a bit later and in a different style period.
Size 3 desert boots, from before they started doing the more clunky look of the goodyear welt. Used quite a bit and rubbersoled a few times. Heel also rebuild a few times. No laces. Made of one piece of leather (tongue excluded).
Paid 600 usd for them back in the days, but it was including a very difficult shipping route (they didn't sell to people who weren't in store to try them)

Cedar wood shoe trees I'll throw in with the shoes for an ekstra 30 euro.
Again, I'll add extra photos if wanted.
