Does anyone here have any experience with the Mission Workshop "The Loch" shorts? I tried the New Way shorts by Outlier and wasn't super impressed, these look really cool though.

Anything with the 4way stretch material is quite compelling, water resitance with crazy amount of stretch.

Looking to pick up a soft shell. I live in the Northern Midwest and temperature ranges anywhere from -25f in the winter to 95f in the Summer. It's also can be rainy during the Spring.

Re: Softshell

Did some digging and found what appears to be a very good softshell from SWRVE, light and multifunctional with a nice casual styling. Easy on the wallet as well.

Been wanting this book for so long, thanks for the heads up.

Given the ridiculous resale price on the first edition though, I am kind of thinking whether it would be worth it to buy a few extra copies, but then I would think the print run will be much larger than the first time around....

Speaking of ridiculous: Shipping to CH is €27 (sic!). And if thats any indication it'll might get shipped by FedEx or the like; this in turn would mean another another CHF20+0.70 import fees.

I paused... for a second. Thanks for the heads up, just looked at the site a week ago.

don't bitch about shipping the book is really huge/heavy so it's for a reason.

I understand the situation; I think deep down I was trying to express my bemusement at the fact that I had just payed half as much as it cost for something to get to me, as the creators got payed to have created it, per unit.

And that I appreciate the chance to have been able to.

Some lifestyle/athletic wear with actually technical materials (coldblack, cordura combat wool, merino, dwr, etc) and manufacturing techniques (bemis bonding, taped seams). Just dropped

this is very promising looking stuff. nice subdued style, interesting patterning and construction looks tight.

Not urban, but if anyone has any ideas about techwear brands suitable for skiing/snowboarding please send me a private message. I know Nike ACG used to do snowboarding trousers and my ISAORA 3L riding shell is intended for this purpose. Not sure how transferable my Acronym  jacket will be.  (haven't done much research yet but they're usually just goretex/other waterproof shells with some having an inner elastic band to keep warmth in and water out I think?)

Any good sock recommendations? Looking for something ultra-thin and breathable, and mid-calf. I'm thinking about trying out those Outlier socks, anyone have any experience with them? How thin are they?

I own 6 or 7 pairs of outlier socks, by far my favorite socks that I own. They aren't ultra-thin, but they're on the thinner side, and I think they're breathable and comfortable enough to wear year round (although I do have a climate controlled office job, so I don't spend too much time testing them outside in the summer). I'd definitely recommend them.
