I have to admit, I got my K in hand and passed it on a couple of days later. I was not impressed at all.

Sweat and oils are really bad for laminated fabrics. Both for performance and longevity. I wonder if post fabric production dyeing or other processes may have striped any oleophobic (oil repellent) treatment the fabric may have had.

What the deal with a delaminated fabric, is it sill effective at keeping one dry or safe from the wind? or does it render the technical properties of the fabric moot?

FYI I took a lot of detailed photos of both J1A-GT and J1A-GTV, to help with future LC. They are more different than I would have expected: the GTV has these mysterious velcro tabs on the upper arm, the collar/hood is different, and the dimensions of various panels are a bit different all around. You can see them here:

The J1A-GTPL has those "mysterious" velcro tabs too - apparently they're meant to allow you to roll up your sleeves and hold them in place - I never figured out how to do that without it looking awkward though.

How's the collar/hood different? Just the "cover" on the hood's snap buttons?

If there's a drop, Errolson'll post it on IG some hours before. Turn on post notifications.

Bizarre they left those off the paclite version, where arguably they're way more useful. I make use of them on my J22 (2.5 layer pro shell) an awful lot.

Can you take a picture and show how the sleeves would look rolled up on the tab? @drgitlin

Having trouble rolling them up properly on the tab myself  haha

I would usually just push my sleeves up instead of rolling and secure the elastic loop with the velcro tab.

Same... these are actually one feature i use a lot on jackets with them, but it’s pretty impossible on any with gravity pockets

Same. As for pictures, I’ll see if I get a chance but I’m traveling a lot right now so it might be a few weeks.

Undo sleeve velcro > push sleeve up forearm > velcro hitch tab to sleeve > re-fasten sleeve velcro back over hitch tab.

Sleeve now stays in place on forearm.

Lol the sleeve tab question is usually followed by someone finding the hidden collar loop for the fast hood.

For me it's more what mecca said. It seems pretty difficult to do it when there's the gravity pocket in the way.

It still works. And there shouldn't be any 'rolling' involved. Push the sleeve up, per my instructions.

Yeah, the bit that bunches up should be around your elbow, which keeps restriction of movement to a minimum. And definitely don't try rolling it!

That J47A-WS is looking mighty interesting (Spotted in the P30-CH product photos for those wondering).

That jacket already dropped. Crazy to see WS more expensive than GT pro but I guess it's the intricacy of the design of the j73 / exposed seem allowances of the j69.

Spotted P22-C in the j59

J59 is mixture of ss-j8, E-j3, ds-j12ts, j57ts-ss,j4ts and some ss-j16 to me, in all good ways. Not sure the materials but hopefully some comeback of ch-j31 will make the jacket more versatile.

i could pretty much name it some ultimate acr softshell as long as cp2 and j49. Good job also good job on that price tag...

If you had to pick between CH and DS, anyone want to weigh in on which is more comfortable?

You are correct! Too bad, I must have been asleep when that drop happened.

The P30's have the right drop depth compared to last year's P25's (way too low for me), but the way the pant cuffs rise towards the backside and hug the shin in the front is kind of.. meh? Would have preferred them hanging in a more neutral/balanced way.
