Acronym.

Quick question regarding sizing.

I am highly interested in purchasing either a J1A-GT or a J28-GT.

First Acromym jacket purchase.

My height is 178cm / 5’10” -5’11”

Weight is 85kg / 187lb

Will be probably 80kg to 78kg over summer.

Chest size when taking a deep breath is 41 inches / 104cm

Chest size when relaxed is 39 inches / 99cm

I generally wear Rick Owens Mainline, and am 52 in flight jackets, leather bauhaus, intarsia etc. Large in rick owens t-shirts etc

I would most of the time be wearing the acronym jacket with either one layer a t shirt. Or 2 layers being a t shirt and a cotton or wool crewneck.

So what size should I go?

Medium or Large?

Thanks to whoever reads this and can help, very much appreciated!

You're a hard medium. The 28, though the measurements look only slightly different from the 1A, provides for much more arm motion that the 1a. At your size (I am an inch shorter and roughly the same weight and chest size) the medium 1A will be good with layering anything but a higher volume insulator (primaloft/thermore/nano puff/down/climashield.) The 28 seems to accommodate more volume in the shoulders and chest over the 1A; as such it's okay to get that if you're looking for liner versatility. Let me be clear, either will be good it's just the 28 feels better with thicker base and mid layers.

So a large in both the J1A and J38 would be way too big for me?

Or could I get away with it?

applying dwr to GT.. not washing. right? just spray evenly?

Try to get a wash like Granger's 2in1 to ensure an even reapplication of DWR. I usually wash my jackets every month or two to keep them performing.

Here's a tutorial for how to wash Gore jackets if you need it.

If you haven't washed your jacket in a couple years, use both. Otherwise, it'll be easier to just wash it with the detergent, throw it in the dryer, and you're done!

We are the same height and I am around 81kg. I went for a Medium and fits fine.

Was in Chicago today to see the Cubs game, but got rained out. :angry2: On the plus side, got a full days use out of the J63. Temps were about 60°, rain was steady to

heavy. Stayed warm and dry with only a button down underneath and still looked dressed up for dinner. Favorite ACRNM coat of the last couple years. Its totally

going to supplant the J47 in my wardrobe.

Totally agreed

It would be my most expensive jacket ever

But as we all know Acronym released each piece with very limited numbers

The original price is affordable, but re-sell price is ridiculous

Not to mention that it would be extremely difficult for me to buy Acronym as I live in China

Even if I get the chance to buy it with original price,I still have to pay extra 30% for duty fee.

Maybe I fell in love with a wrong lable.

Wait man,"the original price is affordable",thinking we living in same place?

And also,We already known this.c0w3Um5RZjRUSjBsWXlHSDJWNmszTlZQaGdaejQ3

And E already made it.

But what for(he do have tons of reasons, here also covered heavily)?

Still have no idea though myself.

Nevermind. It's hidden behind the hearts.

Haven't had a chance to fix the setting on all this stuff. The heart icon kind of seems totally wrong. We can customise a set of new ones...
