i.e. Yeezy Season 5 will be in all goretex, schoeller, windstopper, etc. Mainstream celebs/everyone/Kardashians will wear it. Beyonce will drop a post apocalyptic album inspired by it, it'll be streamed on TIDAL. Collabs with Bamford Watch Company. Collabs with Converse. Collabs with Mastermind. Collabs with cereal. MET ball theme in 2019 will be techninj. (God, make it stop.)

Waiting for this

The worst case scenario would be that it just horribly implodes into this strange dystopia. Bigger, well equipped companies (ZARA, Bershka, and god forbid, Forever21) will cash in on the look, over saturate the market and hammer the fuck out of it for several seasons and paint a picture so terrible that even we don't like ACR anymore.

this is guaranteed to happen.

If it means more choice then great, as I said though, the 'fashion' will pass, otherwise it wouldn't be fashion, acrnm have been around for well over a decade, let's face it I really don't think it makes a jot of difference to them, they'll continue just doing what they do, I really don't think they are bothered if folk follow and I don't think they think that they are paving the way, just merely doing what they want to do until you & I stop buying and they cannot do it anymore.

We are all being a bit silly really aren't we?

Semi-rambling here:

I hope the reseller market creates better rivals than Veilance (or Veilance starts upping their game more).

Y-3 is making some decent headway/prodding (and created their own mini hype market with the Qasa), versus how it was a few years ago with giant logos everywhere. Also WRT the Qasa, note that the Qasa got super hyped, sold out CONSTANTLY, was a prime price gouge shoe, and now you can get them on sale half off pretty easily 2 years later. So maybe we just need to buckle up and ride it out for a year or two.

My thoughts; instead of buying whatever is the latest Goretex 1500 dollar acronym jacket, go on a vacation.

Will is 100% right in terms of the hype cycle. I don't know about y'all but I was wearing ACR 10 years ago and I assume I'll be wearing it 10 years from now, doubtless some of the same pieces. Respect to the Acrhive people for doing their thing, but I personally wear it in a drop in, non-cosplay, outerwear focused way - a sharp-looking microclimate that gets taken off once inside.

Are there any dec 3a reps?

It does not have to be a dead on copy or anything, but is there anything that resembles the 3a that you can get under $1.2k

https://www.bagjackshop.com/en/nxl-lines/tech-line/sniper-bag/a-1678/

(It comes in non-camo, but that option isn't featured in the pics.)

Also: has ACG been pulled from the Nike site? Didn't realize they did that...

Far be it from me to give anyone fashion pointers but Errolson looks like he cut up an old puffy acid wash denim Gitano jacket for that fit.

I bought the gaiter for $150 from bodega, so $50 profit? Kinda sad that you'd go out of your way to prove this.

Anyway you know SuFu is dead when all you gotta dust off drama from 2 years ago.

Just a friendly little PSA, but if you're bidding on any of these via proxy, you're about to get a fake:

http://page18.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/w170010663

http://page6.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/f206580745

http://page9.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/k244295639

I'm sure there are some that already know it, but considering the amount of proxy bids on them and the current prices, it's pretty safe to say that a lot of people don't realize it.  There's likely a lot more out there but these are ones that I've just come across now.  The sellers are all selling the same items and they're all fake.

There are an absurd amount of fakes (acronym, visvim, wtaps, tom browne, gucci, supreme, givenchy) being sold on YJP from sellers in Osaka and Fukuoka which suggests that it's likely yakuza-related business. The pattern is usually that the item gets won and paid for, then the item gets shipped to the buyer (or proxy) in Japan directly from China via a forwarding service with no return address.

Just thought I'd pass on a little info.  I assume quite a few people have already gotten burned but hopefully this will save a few more in the future.

Absolutely. Couldn't have said that better myself, if your dealing with people on there be sure to ask for proof and location before laying down the cash. Also use YAWallet and you can claim for fakes. (Though, it is painfully slow.)

Just wondering if anyone knows where to get replacement zippers from - accidentally snagged one and the pull part of the slider snapped off.

I've sussed out the YKK site and it looks like it's this one: http://www.ykkfastening.com/products/zipper/slider/zipper_type/coil_zipper/5cn/5cn_dsbyg.html

But doesn't look like I can purchase from YKK as a retail customer. Any help would be much appreciated!

(long time lurker, first time poster)

Could someone please go into more detail (or point me in the direction of a guide) on how to spot acronym fakes? Or maybe more specifically, how to tell the ones in those links specifically are fake? I have no intention of buying acronym from yjp, but I'm curious as to what the signifiers are.

Biggest give aways for me are the zipper pulls as most acr uses either camlock or vislon ykks or raccagni zips that are distinctive and absent on the fakes. The other easy way to tell is that the interior of whatever shell fabric the fakes use looks pretty different from the goretex pro backer - it has a lighter more "plasticy" look and the grid pattern is less prominent compared to the real thing. As always though, the best way to spot fakes is by the deals that are too good to be true.

The quickest giveaway is the zipper pulls. Some of the fakes have decent looking zippers on the front of the jacket, but I have yet to see one with the correct zipper pulls on the gravity pocket. The fakes have generic looking black metal zipper pulls with large openings like the first image, whereas real ACR have zipper pulls like that of the second image.
