Did you do an initial soak groove? I did and they tightened up nicely around the hips. I imagine if I did another soak I would expect the same. Groove did you pull the trigger on the new roys? Im not allowing myself to check out the post for fear I wont be able to resist buying a pair. And I have already made the decision to pick up a pair of Onis next.

Yup. Did an initial soak and they fit great. I suppose I can give em a soak instead of a wash-- I'm kind of of the opinion of when they stink, just wash em.

I did I pick up the roys! Pretty stoked. My plan b was to pick up the big x warehouse specials or some oni's as well. The roys wont get much I any wear this year but I couldn't resist the handmade and STF combo...

The Knees in mine have stretched out noticeably now. I gave them a very hot soak a week ago and the waist etc shrank up nicely.

The denim has softened up well - this is my first pair of Zimbabwean cotton.

I'm finding them very comfortable.

Knee combs coming along nicely and a little indigo bleed on the cuffs and pocket bags.

Grooveholmes - Good call on the Roys (I may have bought some too - just between us guys)

Not planning on wearing them at all for the time being- just had to have them - self Christmas present.

Merry Christmas people.

Take care and wear Ande Whalls ;)

It may come to pass if a pair of 38s are left after tomorrow I will have a pair of the Roy's as well. I keep telling myself that with this new cone Roy denim thing more will come. But... I've never been a patient person so I might pull the trigger.

On the Ande front; smoking a salmon for Xmas eve supper and mine might need a wash or a soak afterwords. Then again an apple wood parfum may be just what they need to get me through the year.

Cpl- that's a rye whiskey yah? Or rather whiksey! Aged in virgin oak? We don't have a really good selection of American whiskey and bourbon here where I live. You can get pretty much every scotch or Irish whiskey but for some reason not very much of the American.

My recent favorite is red breast Irish whiskey. For $40.00 a bottle it might turn into my "cooking" whiskey.

Brings me to tonight. Leftovers and some red wine. Kids are in bed and Mom and Dad (Me) had a fire to close out the evening. It has been unseasonably mild this Christmas so a fire is doable. It is usually approaching negative double digits around this time of the year here. No white Christmas.

On the jean front, they have basically become a second skin. UKE - I agree they have that Cone feel to them. The Zimbabwe Cotton is really nice IMO. I would definately look for another jean with this cotton.

Anyways here they are by the fire.4891c9da.jpg60c4f934.jpg

Broke out psycho Michael and the rest of Suicidal Tendencies. Long story short...neighbors were not feelin it.

"just cause you don't understand what's going on don't mean it don't make no sense and just cause you don't like it don't mean it aint no good"

For the sake of brevity it's time for bed.

Easy there, big fella. We'll give em until after new years to put some pics up. But like you, I'm questioning the commitment of people in this contest. I don't think even half the folks in it have checked in which is lame. I suppose my frustration is tempered with the fact that this contest essentially became a kickstart campaign for Ande post-quake(s). Still, I do wonder what could have been with the original committed members, including poly. But it's all about timing; a lot of which we had no control over. I digress.

Denim porn. Taken from my phone while driving up I-85 to VA. (Don't tell the po-po) I was stopped anyway (holiday traffic). Again, the Z-cotton is fantastic.

While at my parents, I realized this little imperfection-- a little weft poking through.

Had a lovely lunch yesterday at Guglhupf, a nice cafe and eatery here in Durham. House-roasted lamb sandwich with arugula, tomato, and mint yogurt-sauce. Side of lentil & portobello soup.

Still haven't washed these guys, but I will this weekend.

And here's something I mentioned earlier-- the shallow pocket bags encourage creasing around the crotch. Just thought it was an interesting detail worth noting.

And here's a little holiday cheer I was sending my friends via text. I love the Zen brush app.

Hi chaps! Good on you for posting pictures, looking good. I keep trying to make myself a pair of the new ones, the end of the last denim roll I made a pair of Buffalo shorts, jorts. I did cut the front pocket bags fairly shallow, I like the easy access to pocket stuff, but have increased the length 10mm, so just a tad deeper. It's been really hot in Christchurch recently, a bit cooler today and raining, sweet. I have been sewing in shorts and t-shirt. My old sewing teacher always told me off for wearing jandals to class, it's my own stupid fault if I drop shears on my foot. Thanks for all the support over the crazy year of 2011 fellas! Looking forward to 2012 and making new stuff! Have a good NYE dudes, drink and be merry.
