cuz it was designed that way bro...has nothing to do with the taper of the outseam, cuz some slim/tight cuts can`t have a selvage outseam cuz of their tapered legs...you can do a selvage outseam on the 7301s (or any other 301s type!) but this would require a complete redesign of this cut and all...

so since these do sell just great (with a visible non-selvage outseam!) the guys at SE and IH really don`t give a damn if these are selvage or not i`d say!...

oh, i always thought the reason the 301's do not have a selvage outer seam is due to tapering from both the inner and outer inseams
