interesting that most of this is about dad and not mom so far.

My family is shockingly normal, but my in-laws on the other hand...

Lets see, for starters: A smattering of polygamy (and yes, they live in the states), unbelievably fertile (the wife is one of 10 and one of her half-sisters has 8 kids and 29 grandkids), and a fair number of first-cousin marriages.

None of them get along - I've seen hair-pulling fights, men almost come to blows. Family gatherings are nuts - hundreds of nieces and nephews (not an exaggeration), all running around screaming, all the adults yelling to be heard over the din of the kids, fights breaking out periodically, and her 90 year old father running around telling all of them to shut the hell up.

Oh, also, their native tongue is arabic which means that most of the time I have no idea what anyone's saying...

this! my pops doesnt 100% close the front door to my house. he closes it to the point that the door is shut but the lock hasnt clicked in. i dont understand why or even how he continues to do this...

My dad wakes up at 5 or 4am on sat to make cakes. He bakes usually 3. For no reason.
