Living in Japan the last 5 years means rolling a bike and taking train/subway.

Definitely miss my 88 Carrera. Stock engine, full suspension and safety equipment.

There is no substitute.

Sick. This is my 85 m491. Ironically I leave for Japan on Thursday. Im going to live there for 3-5 years and I think I'm going to miss my car more than my family .

Toyota did a great job with that car, all they need to do now is make a more powerful version and call it the Supra.

but wouldn't that make it a celica?

this next decade will be interesting, as classic Japanese homologation models reach 25 years of age. after 25 years past manufacture, any vehicle can be imported legally to the United States.

looking forward to seeing these:

  • Nissan Pulsar GTi-R (1990)
  • Lancer Evolution I (1992)
  • Nissan Skyline GT-R (1989)

and from Europe:

  • Ford Escort Cosworth (1992)
  • Ford Sierra Cosworth (1990)

the Pulsar GTi-R in particular...

i'm painfully aware of this.

if you're ballin Canada also lets you import current model year vehicles

dunno how much importing is worth it though cuz i was looking at importing those 90s jap 400cc sportbikes (nsr250 2 stroke 131kg dry, vfr400 v4 14000rpm redline)

average base prices not including shipping, taxes, fees, etc.

$8-10k gets you an EK9

$12-15k gets you an S15 or an R33

or wait a year and pay $40k for an R34

plus you gotta learn how to drive stick with your left hand lol

RWD ruined my life.

Sick.  I've been drooling over the FR-S/BRZ, but after taking a close up look at both, the BRZ was what I'd go for.  The FR-S interior is inferior in comparison, by quite a bit.  How do you like it so far?

Yea the BRZ is better value over the FR-S. You can negotiate with Subaru but not with Scion.

The car is ridiculously fun to drive around twisties without going much higher than speed limit. Rear end kicks out pretty easily with the stock tires. You can drive it hard and WOT 24/7 and not worry about gettin pulled over b/c it's not all that fast. :)

Ugh sounds like what I want!  I gotta make more moneys for dem payments doe.

Note to self: When getting the BRZ, you must get-

-5x114.3 conversion

-STI Brembos

-12x1.5 stud conversion

-Wheels

-Tires

-Coilovers

-RCAs

Perfect for some fun, nothing too crazy.  The Stance coilover/control arm package looks so nice.

Haven't decided what mods I want yet. I want to drive the piss out of it in stock form and see what I want to upgrade. So far, I only have JDM exhaust tips as the USDM ones look retarded on these cars, a 2.4in stubby antenna and I got my car opti-coated last week.

let's be straight up. you can get all of these things in america and people do have them. they're just not legit.

they got those 2 stroke four hunnids here.

police don't really know about that stuff. and if they see something "off" it's just an equipment violation.

I did a few laps of drifting at Laguna Seca on a lightly modded FR-S earlier this year, shit was so easy to break loose i'm wondering whats going to happen when (eventually) they release a more powerful version.  Other than being the best and most efficient car for drifting around a rallycross track it was easily the slowest of the cars i drove on my last session there.

Do what I listed. :)

If you're a wheel whore you'll have a much better time swapping them out.  I'm mildly annoyed that the FR-S/BRZ did not come in 5x114.3 from the factory.  In my opinion, that is a pretty big goof up.  The stuff I listed wasn't that big of a deal, with the exception of the hub conversion.

But yeah, if/when I get my BRZ, I'm leaving in stock for a while.  I'm so over having my Accord drive like ass over every imperfection.  I've fucked up so many front lips and wheels from being so low.

Saving up for a 05-06 Legacy GT though

I have an 06 LGT sedan that I've owned since 2005. It has been a reliable DD for the past 8yrs. The interior is so underrated in that car.
