2 month stay in NYC...

Going to New York city for 2 months and was wondering if anyone had any advice for accommodation or living arrangements? I'm going to be doing a course while I'm over there. Should I rent an apartment for the 2 months, stay at a hostel, try university campuses...? I'm on a budget, what's my best option?

cheapest option would probably to find a short-term rental situation via craigslist

do a sublet. look at sublet.com or craigslist. just take over some guys rent and bills. don't even gotta buy furniture. hell, wear his clothes if you want. lol

Plans have now changed, any reccs for a cheap but central place to stay for 2-3 weeks? I'm not too fussed as long as it's somewhere to sleep and a safe place to stash my stuff while I'm out exploring...

the cheapest would be a hostel but i don't kno of any in manhattan that'd be cheap. you'd probably end up in a shady part of brooklyn or queens.

maybe post on craigs list under housing wanted and say you're lookin for a place to crash for 2 weeks.. maybe you'll get lucky.
