this explains bokeh pretty well. i'm still not too good at telling the difference between good and bad bokeh unless it's really bad but this helped quite a bit.

my bad, it does look hexagonal....3rd photo, upper left corner. where the green is, above the wall..

some people say good bokeh is when its all blurred out you cant make shit out, but i really think it's more about personal preference than anything else.. and how isolated you want your subject to be?

so, ultimately, it really is personal preference; and no one really has much of an argument. hah

+ bad exposure (greater visible detail on the pillars was the intention) and worse scanning but you get the idea...
