Info on a nice, moderately priced lens to accompany a D7000?

I considered posting this in "Small Questions" but no one has used that thread since March... so I figured this thread would yield better results!

Edit: For "general" or "overall" shooting purposes. More so oriented towards a hobby than a career!

35mm f/1.8 is a great all around lens for 200 bucks. If you want a zoom for a good price the tamron 28-75mm f/2.8

since we're into questions now I thought I might ask one :)

handled the d7000 the other day and compared to my D5000 this thing is a fucking brick.Heavy as fuck imo...

What you guys think about it?

1500SFr.=1700$ incl.18-135mm lens...good or bad?

Seems a bit on the pricey side no?

lose the kit and just get the body. I paid 1200 for mine new. It's meant to be more of a ProAm/ budget pro. With the d7k you won't have to surf through all those menus to adjust settings like the d5k saving you time and getting more shots.
