Good stuff corter. What film was used for these shots? standard exposure & standard development?

thank you!

yep, i shot those with a t2 so it's just auto exposed and developed at CVS. I think I used fuji something or other, just whatever was on sale at the time, 200iso. I usually just scan it, spot it, and do some amateur-at-best color correction.

I like this one

Anyway I'm gonna start shooting color film for the first time. I was recommended either Portra 400 or Fuji Pro 400, anyone have advice on what to get? Although I'll probably just end up buying a few of each to try out

I'd recommend buying 1 or 2 (better 2) of every film you wanna try. These are some i've tried:

Fujifilm:

Astia - http://www.fujifilmusa.com/products/professional_photography/film/fujichrome/astia/index.html

Sensia - all around film, natural colors

Provia - less contrast than velvia, standard

Velvia - most contrasty, colors pop

Fujifilm superia - cheap consumer film, not very good compared to the rest, its worth the little extra money to just buy portra. But if you are just taking "fun" snapshots, then it will suffice.

Portra VC - vivid

Portra NC - Natural (this is very good)

Thanks, ended up buying a 5 pack each of Fuji pro and Portra NC. Bought a couple rolls of Provia too but I'll be working in a darkroom so slide film isn't really a necessity

Whats the standard cost for getting film processed?
