This book drags on and on and you might end up hating it....His other stuff is way better IMHO.

How is it? Banks has been a longtime favorite author of mine, but he lost me a bit with has last few novels. It's a Culture novel, right?

Yes it's a Culture novel, and a good one. I still haven't finished. Every time it gets more complicated. This time, there's actually a glossary at the end, so you can refer to the various species and stuff.

Not as weird as the previous one, and probably more like the classic Culture books, but still really demanding, it's long and challenging and ... nerdish in every possible way.
