That’s exactly what I like about my FW. That they are not perfectly sewn. But almost! either way, both are valid as you said.

I’m glad I didn’t get a pair. All the waiting until they go live and then buy asap to get ahead of others. Just couldn’t be bothered. I’m so happy with my Freewheelers now and I could try them on in the store before buying. I don’t get the thing about perfectly sewn stitches either on a Repro pair. Isn't that part of the charm that the originals weren’t perfect?

601RB 9 months in. All the seams are still intact. Crotch is starting to blow out and cuffs are worn thru. I’ll need them repaired before I wear them more. Good first experience with FW.

Not needing to hem is nice. Many options here in Tokyo and they all manage to mess it up one way or another. Including desolation row. they don’t hem in store but outsource to some local place in Tokyo. Was quite surprised. Luckily Hoosier fixed that hem for me. your 30x30 must look really good. Unlike my tree stump 36x30.

Didn’t know that. Good to know they have length 30. I took 5cm off a washed W36 L32. I guess I have really short legs.

Yes, that was 51 and 47 next to each other. Even in different light, they look about the same to me. My 507xx 1951 jacket does look noticeably lighter. Maybe the color varies a little from one production run to another.

Didn’t know that… thought they were meant to be worn as a set. I’m liking the 47 cut a lot more. Not sure if it’s the one I tried on, but the 51 jeans feel a lot slimmer than 601rb which are supposed to be the same cut. I can’t tell the difference between colors. They look exactly the same to me.

So 47 and 51 are same fabric, but different cut and color. According to the stores in Japan 47 is FW’s (Daihyo) 代表 Or “representative” model. But it doesn’t have a jacket to go with?

That’s how I felt about my 46 and upsized to 48. Much happier. It’s a bit baggy over t-Shirt but perfect over a flannel or a sweater.

Those 51s look great! I’m in between 51 and 47 for my next pair. I think it’s the same fabric.

If you’re looking to win I think you’ll need 18oz and up. Something fast fading Like Oni, PBJ or samurai. Or live in tropical climate and push them thru the summer. the judges seem to like heavy ounce entries a lot. Lots of the podium pairs also looked too “good” to be true. Number 2 last year is a Japanese YouTuber kinda notorious for pushing a little extra hard for fades. In other words, I wouldn’t join to win. Very unlikely given how much it grew too.

Looks like some nice vintage/repro pairs this year. Most of what i saw in that competition until now was ultra heavy and hyper tapered stuff. Good to see some other entires this year.
