  1. @tjsma Happens to me as well with various denim. Some more than others. Also jackets where the front placket turns to the left or right (left hand twill vs right hand twill). I like it personally. I have a Wrangler 24MJ that really pulls to the left when I wear it.
  2. Wouldn’t the 506 46-47 model be the jacket to pair it with?
  3. Hmm I had my eye on the Gemsa shirt as well. God there is too much good stuff around.
  4. I was an LVC fan until I discovered Japanese denim brands years ago. Now all LVC just look like toys to me, some exceptions. I can’t for the life of me understand why people pay so much money for these limited editions. That hand drawn thing, I mean 😆
  5. I saw this. I wonder if it’s a complete coincidence for it to happen at the exact same time as FW introduces theirs. 125,000 yen though… And they kept the horrible leather patch 🫣
  6. @shredwin_206 That’s the appeal of cotton threads to me 🙂 I would just handstitch it with a simple running stitch. Leave the rest of the chainstitch as is. Do a couple extra stitches where the chainstitch ends and it won’t come undone any further that easy. Best to use a dark blue thread to match the denim. Keeps the worn in / broken stitches look.
  7. @shredwin_206 I figured 😁 Good you found it back! Happy days. I also like the broken chainstitch on the other side of the placket.
  8. Damn that’s some lightning fast shipping.
  9. @LazyS I agree with @Dr_Heech those look awesome! That makes me want a pair even more!
  10. This right here says we’re on a forum for ‘very sophisticated denim addicts’
  11. @Broark Those look pretty nice. I’ve never had a 30s model before and now I’m tempted. Maybe a strange question but is that cinch in the way at all during use? Or not noticeable?
  12. Tried Coca Cola, turns out it removes rust instead of creating it 😄 I use sodium carbonate to wash. This removes dirt very effectively.
  13. @shredwin_206 I wash with a little bit of soda. Might agitate the metals a little. I like the patina 🙂
  14. @AnOldFolkSong Man you abused that fly area! 😄
  15. Ah yes I remember now, it’s featured on the cover of Lightning Magazine Vintage Sweatshirts!
  16. Yeah it’s a really interesting shirt that one. I wasn’t really sure about the tapered pockets but came to like them a lot, very spacious. The placket also has a quirky twist to it. How is yours aging?
  17. @Broark It’s not my fav color but man that one looks good.
  18. Recent Freewheelers items. Courtesy of Hoosier ofcourse. 1947 601xx, Army Officer Shirt, Jenkins Shirt, Skid Row Shirt. Beautiful items, some really nice detailing on these. All 100% cotton stitching everywhere, which really makes the difference here. Some threads are already fading and showing wear. Some details that I enjoy: Heavy chainstitching here 🙂 Brushed surface looks and feels so good: Cotton moleskin lining on the placket and gussets: This fabric is like iron! Bonus rusting button on my 1951 601xx:
  19. Same here. Slow fading but such a great denim 👌🏻 Nice cut as well.
  20. I read somewhere in on this website that a certain person in Japan is fixing up people with FW care packages so I decided to try it out 😉 I already got a few items like the 1951 601xx and was very impressed so far. The thing I was missing in my closet were some nice flannels. I got the Skid Row in two different fabrics and the Jenkins shirt as well. And all I can say is, wow. These shirts are unlike anything I have ever owned. It is very hard to describe what’s so special about FW items and why I like them so much but I’ll try. I guess they almost feel like they’re one of a kind handmade items. The fabrics, hardware, stitching, patterns and construction are so nice. Nice, but not perfect and that is just the key to make them feel so special. The patterns are a little quirky and somehow seem like real vintage. Cut for purpose, not for fashion. I don’t want perfectly aligned pockets, the cleanest sewing or the strongest thread construction. The stitching on these shirts is a 100% cotton as opposed to many other repro brands which use core spun or polyester threads. This is a big plus for me. They will age along with the cotton fabric and get that faded, worn look like on vintage garments. I actually prefer them to break in the long run so I can repair them 😁 I searched a long time for this and happy to have finally found it. Apart from this I just want to say that Seiichiro is an absolute wonderful person who has helped me a lot with explaining about the items and garment construction and fabrics in general. Great guy. I’ll try and get some pics up this weekend of the shirts when I’m at home during daylight 🙂
  21. I’m currently giving my 601xx 1951 a hand wash and each time I notice how supple and soft the denim is, even when wet. I’ve not experienced that before. Truely a special weave in my opinion.
