@obama You could comfortably size down in the SC66 and they are quite roomy in the top block as well. Check measurements before though just to be sure.

Sometimes I lurk around on ebay for fun and came across this 1960s pair of selvedge 505s, amazing hippie-character on these. Perhaps if I keep washing and wearing my own TCB 505s...
-
@CharlieMike They are doing a 1970 cut? Edit: found it, looks very nice. https://www.celluloid1984.com/?pid=174462422
-
@bloom Agreed with every word there, TCB hasn't overdone it with the 505 unlike many other 60s/70s repros which are often too slim. The only thing that threw me off was the two-tone denim at the waistband, luckily that is not noticeable once faded. It's also quite versatile to style, let it stack a little and it will appear more straight but if you hem it shorter the silhouette will be more tapered.
-
Sugar Cane also has a 505 repro simply called 1967, don’t know where to buy though. Imo the LVC 505 is one of their best cuts but they fit a lot slimmer than my TCB 505s.

@81FXR Good to know, a great OCBD is a staple in any men’s wardrobe. Will probably be a Drake’s then when I buy a new one.
-
@81FXR How are the shirts from Drake’s? I’ve been interested in getting one for a while. Seems like a good quality brand.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but isn't the SC 1947 like the gold standard for a classic straight fit in the denim repro world? From all pictures I've seen online the outseam and inseam does look very parallel from the knee down. If the definition of a true straight is that it has to have zero taper throughout the leg at all wouldn't that mean that the thigh and hem measurements would be the same? Even for a baggy pair of jeans that sounds ridiculous.
-
Agreed and it can get expensive very fast! Because you want to try a new way of washing, a new way of wearing, a new size or different denim in every new pair! Never truly satisfied, you start looking for the next pair soon enough. Similar to the saying for cameras: ”the best camera is the one in your hand” is probably true for jeans as well, that the best pair are the ones you’re wearing.

Had a pair of 80s 501s altered to my length with a chainstitch hem, the original hem left a little to be desired. Hopefully I'll get some roping to pop after the next wash, happy either way.

@AlientoyWorkmachine Or a pair of original redlines.
-
@Smallrod Washed. But they have a raw limited edition for sale right now made with Cone Denim.

I think it's about time that we start a proper thread for Superstitch Paris, a brand and denim store created by french denim enthusiast Arthur Leclerq. Superstitch already has a great lineup of products such as the LR01, a 66 single repro, and the LR11, a type II jacket. However, we have been teased that there is a 50s XX model coming soon which will probably make more people inclined to try the brand hence why I'm starting this thread.

@roomtemplacroix Okay, thanks a lot!

Really enjoying my 1953 jacket, does anyone know if the 1955 jeans is made from the same denim?
-
Great news, some rigid LVC models are now finally available with a 36 inseam.
-
@cool_hand Yes I’m pretty sure they are shrink to fit. However, like most Levi’s today they only come in a 32 and 34 inseam which will be quite short when completely shrunk.

Denime styled by japanese Begin magazine in 1993 and in 2023. This sort of relaxed understated style definitely hits the spot for me. https://www.e-begin.jp/article/310481/

My favorite shirt is this 1990s Agnes b. planete shirt, however I believe it might be time to retire it. Thankfully they are still in production and made in France so I've ordered a new one. If someone knows a good way to mend the collar please lmk! https://www.agnesb.eu/en/men/the-forever/light-blue-cotton-twill-plan-te-shirt

Lucked out with an amazing sale and bought myself a pair of sneaker I never thought I'd own. These have been a grail for me for a loong time so I'm over the moon.

Exiting! Which proxy service did you use? Only used Japan Rabbit before and that was for MiJ Converse.

https://shop.evisu.jp Maybe you can order through Japan Rabbit for international shipping?
