Not set on a captoe, just not looking for anything overly flashy.
Crockett and Jones might be a good option, haven't looked there yet!

I'd definitely look at the English shoes for your wedding. Not Viberg. They do nice boots, but the English do really great shoes. Trickers are very chunky, country shoes. C&J are great. Also check out Carmina (from Spain). Very well made and you could get a fantastic shell cordovan in tan from them, you choose the last and shape you want.

  2. I have exactly the same problem on all of my Tender jeans. It's the only gripe I have with them. I've tried the plier trick, arranging it vertically, etc but the buttons always eventually pop out. I almost lost one into the toilet, too. Lucky miss.

I wonder why William didn't sew them on? The wire seems a very precarious solution.

The jeans (my 3005XXX) are almost at 14 months of real wear time. I'll probably wash them next week and doubt I'll wear them again for a while, but I'll take some updated pictures before stashing them away for the future.

    The jeans are looking amazing...

Apologies for the shameless plug superpeeps..:blush2:  I'm struggling with thoughts towards letting my Brakeman go... I  dearly love it but i rarely get the opportunity to wear it, i wore it 2 or 3 times in 2019-20 but it hasn't been worn for the last couple of years, it's been worn 10x max since i bought it in 2016...seems nuts having such an expensive piece hung in the wardrobe going unworn.

I'll get it photographed and listed in the appropriate thread when i get 5mins.. i will ship worldwide but in the meantime..  I appreciate fit is king (size 40) so if anyone in the UK fancies one but hasn't taken the plunge due to sizing/border charge worries, i don't mind 'try before you buy' if you fancy hooking up?

Hmmmm... I'm on a bit of a leather jacket binge of late. Could you post photos and measurements? I wear a 40 in TFH single rider and Original Garment Bros OG-2. Both of which I've had for a few weeks. But I'm in Canada so can't drop by and try it on!

  5. I have a new black version of the TFH single rider's jacket arriving Wednesday. I got it to replace the brown version I bought used. The tag size on my brown one is 40, but it's definitely the chest size, not a normal size 40. My chest is ~40 (39.5" to be exact), and the jacket fits me with no room for more than a t-shirt. P2P is like 19.5". Shoulders are just under 18". It would fit a normal but trim size 38 This is an older version, I think. The new ones have different measurements. So the size 40 on the current new version measures around 44 in the chest and 19" across the shoulders.

Here's the fit of the one I have in brown:

  6. What's the best way to buy from the Flat Head? I want to get a couple of things from their site, including the single rider leather jacket in black. But I'm not sure if they ship overseas. Anyone here ordered directly from flat-head.com?

what Carminas are those? mto (suppose blucher + green cordovan)?

Yes, exactly. Oscar last derby's in green cordovan. I had them re-soled by Dr. Sole though, including a new natural storm welt. Originally, I had them built with Rendenbach sole and metal toe caps (which I detested). The leather and build quality of the shoe is impressive. And I love the green cordovan, ages so well. I just wish Carmina didn't have such tiny eyelets for laces. Practically need to use dental floss...

I think it has more to do with the number of international flights going to and from Japan - Canada right now.
My understanding is that EMS uses commercial flights to ship their cargo (hence the quick delivery times, there's at least one flight from JP to the US daily, etc).
Once those flights resume in greater numbers they should start using EMS again.
Also generally speaking the supply chain around the world is in a super volatile state, it's nuts.

That makes sense, but Japan is officially closed to both the US and Canada so still a little bit odd. But obviously it'll change eventually.

  10. Japan still won't ship EMS to Canada due to Covid, which I don't get at all. Our vaccination rates are the highest in the world and the Covid situation here is relatively stable compared to the skyrocketing 4th wave in the US. It's frustrating. One vendor used surface to ship a UES flannel to me. Took 6 weeks. Most stores that ship are using UPS or DHL. Both have been very fast.
