I think as of now it probably is. The black Mulholland is close. The biggest difference is the sleeve length of the RMC works better for me.

I really like looking at Freewheelers jackets but the sleeve length and my body type are not compatible. With the Real McCoy's the sleeve length is just right for me.

Haha yeah it's funny looking back at that post. I still would have preferred a normal Shinki leather without a doubt. However, the design and sizing of the jacket appealed to me too much. Realizing/being told that the jacket was actually dark brown and not black pushed me over the edge. So it's more that the benefits of the jacket outweighed my misgivings about the leather.

And it is now your best fitting/best looking jacket.

Just got a pair of Fracaps in! Thanks again to @sensy and @Elmer.Richard for sharing their pairs & making me aware of the brand

These'll be pretty much exclusively used for hiking, but not until after I've worn them walking around town for at least a few days to be sure they're comfortable & somewhat broken-in

No off-foot photos, yet…maybe once they've seen some actual wear

Nice Fracaps. I like the color and that welt too.

@elmer_richard, have yours seen much in the way of water / mud? Are they reasonably water resistant? Conversely, do they breath okay? Around how quickly do they dry out?

A friend in the US got these for me in 2015. She bought this from End. I have worn this during my travels and I have used this in hiking so they have their fair share of rain and mud exposure. I just brush and then wipe this with a damp cloth. It helps take out the water marks. The leather is not oily. It dries out pretty quick, say about a couple hours.

@mlwdp very valid point. S&S has done me pretty solid with sizing recommendations for boots so far, but almost $2k for boots without being able to try them on might be my tipping point. Maybe I can get to Brass in Japan to try some on. :D
Sounds like I have some thinking to do, good thing I'm not really planning on buying anything right this second.

I went to Brass last February to try a pair on.

The pair that fit me well is Clinch size 10.5. It is equivalent to US size 9.5. Most of my boots are 9d or 8.5e.
