That’s what others have said here too when I asked not too longer after the 1st drop.

I don't understand why people KEEP mentioning that Hotoveli has had their release pushed back - I already knew/know that. However, I don't think anyone has ever said anything about any other store.

I'm just trying to find out more information regarding if this delayed drop is just a Hotoveli thing or if it's a every store thing. :(

Edit: Next drop is November 23

  2. Apparently pushed back until November 23rd. If anyone else can confirm with any of their local boutiques that carry Acronym, that'd be good to know if it's just Hotoveli Hotoveli.thumb.png.09bdb87b1857a2e81619ffe171029e3f.pngor everyone.

Did you buy the same size in both? Based on measurements it seemed like the J68 fits a size smaller than the J58. I have a J58 in M, and was looking at buying the J68 in L.

    I own size L in both 58-WS and 68-PL.

I too thought that the 68 would be smaller based off of measurements. After trying it on, it’s a bit roomier for layering in the body. The lack of elastic hem at the bottom of the 68 really makes a different in layering. Depending on your body type, I might suggest going up a size in the 68 if you have broad shoulders as some people had mixed experiences and said that it’s a bit tight there.

Similar to what @wexlersaid, I feel the 58 is a tad warmer as well.

Ssense dropped if people were looking for RAF 68 still

Able to get a slightly better idea of Alpha and Raf WS vs DS hues as too

Slightly more expensive than Haven :(  - But yeah, seems like they hardly got any stock - 2/3 of every size roughly

Does anyone own RAF in all the diff materials and can do a side-by-side colour comparison of them all?

I’ve done warm w/ Grangers double rinse no issue. Now back to fw20 or should we continue speculating acrnm’s business model?

Damn, I definitely like the RAF a lot better than my Multi.

The same reason any company lowers prices. It sells out because (hint hint) the stock is super low (someone who knows personally umites told me this). E isn't lowering either because 1) he's saving face from when he tried justifying price hikes using half-lies or 2) he's trying to generate hype the same way Supreme does (I hate this so much).  Raise stock => less cost => lower prices => more stock sold and thus more total profit. Unless you're telling me ACR is dying so badly he needs to hike prices to gouge enthusiasts to save the brand. I doubt this given that he drives a McLaren.

As I said earlier, I have enough for whatever jacket he's making. He just needs to prove to me it's worth the price tag (either by quality, materials, design, or all of the above). I bought the CP4 because it was a unique design that did not have a competitive alternative. I'll be happy to do the same for a shell. That or if he lowered prices, which you said is unlikely.

I like ACR for its design, gimmicks, and details. Not so much for exclusivity and branding (worst parts about fashion today IMO).

BTW @AvantSol my friend has a J1A 2.2, which is why I'm familiar with the quality. It's def a grail jacket but not worth the 2k price tag IMO.

He doesn't need to prove shit to you and you will never understand with that thick skull of yours. He has proven that his timeless designs are worth it over the past 15 years. The quality, materials, and design are all great.

The true worth of an ACRONYM piece is subjective, and you'll never know unless you give it a shot. But don't knock on the materials, quality, or design if you haven't owned one yourself. Just because your friend owns one doesn't mean anything. His experience with a piece is not guaranteed to be the same experience that you will have.

If you don't think it's worth it, then stop talking about the J1A price / lack of unique design / lack of quality or materials and go cop Riot Division or something

Yeah pretty much. Maybe it's the Asian financial discipline in me that's holding me back from pulling the trigger. I have money set aside for a shell so it's not exactly out of reach but at the same time, I don't want to incentivize E's price hikes by buying an overpriced good. I won't buy a rep for obvious reasons but if its success convinces E to change then I might be more open to buying retail. Such a shame all the proof of concept in ACR is being locked away behind a price floor. If he still sold a J1A for 1400 (which he 100% still makes money on) I would have one in my hand right now.

Why would he lower the costs of J1A when it sells out at its current price point anyway?

At the end of the day, it's fine if you don't want to "incentivize E's price hikes". However, if you're really struggling to justify spending disposable income or going a little over the budget that you have, maybe ACRONYM isn't the right brand for you.

If you want a shell, you can buy one from anywhere. If you want an ACRONYM shell, why does it have to be the most hyped/iconic style? You can get other ACRONYM shells for the budget that you have or other brands for a lot lower.

FW1920 was mostly (or maybe even exclusively) made in Europe (at least stuff I own). Can't say anything about SS20

    SS19 J1A-GT 2.2 was Made in China

    FW1920 J58-WS Made in China

    SS19 P30A-DS made in China

it has been random items here and there I guess

Did they move production to China now? Or is it just the J68? (and possibly the P31, explaining the price)

Pretty much everything has been made in China for the past 1.5 years except for a few random pieces here and there. Quality is pretty much the same though, just allows for more stock for everyone.

Hopefully prices stay decent like this drop.

Also, my J68-PL Multi shipped from mothersite already lmao

Since that roast nuked this thread into fallout, let's change topics.

I want a durable jacket that will last me a long time. A buy-it-for-life sort of thing since E is all about that (((sustainability))) nowadays. The question is, what fabric should I choose?

The main four fabrics that are durable used on ACR jackets are 3L Gore-Tex (J47), Stotz Etaproof (J36-S), HD Cotton (J84), and Encapsulated Nylon (J33)

For GTX I know that it's made of plastic material that can block water and is used for many outdoor jackets. The only problem I can see is delamination over time, which will cause the layers to grind against one another as the jacket is worn. Apparently, you can't really do anything about that without paying a huge price. Can Gore-tex be vintage?

I don't know much about Stotz other than its swiss origin and is woven with really long fibers. What are the possible long-term implications of owning a jacket (which is prone to rough contact) made in cotton? Is there any research out there comparing the durability of Stotz, HD Cotton, and Encapsulated Nylon? Or are there better materials out there that ACR doesn't use like Polartec?

Great topic made by @CARLOOA here. Weigh your pros and cons for each fabric and see which one works best for you. I personally try to avoid Stotz jackets because I personally don't like the patina.
