I did searching on this thread back to 2014.

Is anyone using a 14" laptop in their 3A-1? I understand that it's not really a laptop bag as it doesn't allow the bag to conform to your body since it can't bend in the middle section. Does anyone have difficulty taking their laptop in and out along with other items inside of it?

The next step up is 3A-5 with a dedicated laptop cover/pocket but it seems too large and unwieldy for simply a smaller laptop. No in-between looks like.

My 14" MBP fits in my 3TS. Not very comfortable when worn and is a pain to get out given the zipper length.
I'd get a 13TS if you're looking for a daily work bag. New gen has laptop sleeve

Just got the isogon mx in and i love it! However when the zipper is fully done up it doesn’t seem to stay fully up. It comes down a couple mm. Is this normal or did i get a faulty one? This zipper also slides up and down much easier than my conduct anorak. If anyone else with this jacket could chime in it would be much appreciated. @john galt

Oops sorry I don't check this place often anymore. Mine has the same issue. It's just due to the smooth nature of a non-watertight vision zip. It bugs me too but I rarely have it zipped all the ways up when layering an Mionn Comp under. Veilance really needs to make the collar more spacious.

If it's a HUGE problem I'd reach out to Arc and see if they can add "zipper bumps". They're essentially sections of the zip near the top that catch the pull and make it harder to slide. Difficult to see by the naked eye but certainly does make my Atom AR more wearable on the slopes

Can anyone with field pants check the inside tag for fabric composition? I swear I saw that it was the 52/45/3 poly/nylon/elastane blend, but the inside tag states its the 94/6 nylon/elastane blend. Did AV make a pair that was the 94/6 or is it a misprint? I remember when I bought it though, it came with a Goretex Windstopper tag.

Mine are 96/4 as well. I think the 52/45/3 on the lookbook was a typo

Are there people who buy AV to look like the styling on the arc website? I for one appreciate sites like eastdane for their awful styling; better chance things will stick around for sales.

NYCO on voronoi still the same stuff that ages like a fine piss? Any word on how this BURLY(TM) stuff they use in MX pieces might fare?

I wear mostly Veilance and guess inadvertently dress like the models on the Arc site. I prefer Veilance for convenience as I can wear it to work and it requires less maintain that it's non-tech contemporaries. The mobility and weather resistance also helps.

The NYCO is the new Cordura blend that they introduced last season. It's got a sheen and paper like finish in a good way. It ages considerably better than the Voronoi ARs but will still show signs of wear over time. I have Isogon MX which is made from the same Burly DW. I havent had a chance to wear it out but the fabric is similar to the Burly DW on my Gamma LT which has aged very well. If you ask me, on paper the Align MX gives you the best bang for buck on AV bottoms

  5. From what I understand, shakedry is pure performance. It's literally just the GTX membrane. The advantage of Shakedry over 3L is that it has no face fabric, meaning there is nothing to wet-out and the fabric will continuously breathe. Think of it us unlimited DWR. The downside is that it's ugly

  6. I would agree. I have Motus tees for running, paddling and cycling. It's so efficient at moving sweat and incredibly quick drying. For how old it is, its amazing I have yet to find a better performance fabric. I will conceded that the shoes suck.

Is Satisfy that good? The branding looks a little silly to me and the prices...

  7. I too got rid of my Nemis but it's a stellar jacket. It's made from Terratex, an incredibly lightweight breathable yet wind resistant material. It's perfect for chilly summer nights and mornings. Really feels like you're not wearing anything and adapts easily to your climate. It's funny because it's lighter than the other SS jackets but have the biggest internal pockets.
