@busterthehuman i worked in it for about 20 shifts and then washed it. going to maintain a similar pattern. i'm not sure how this denim will look with frequent washing so i'm apprehensive to the jump the gun

@roomtemplacroix: I have the same shirt, wearing it right now, bought it in August 2017. The shirt keeps it’s dark colour, it does not fade fast. I believe SDA denim is known to fade slow/keep its colour. But my guess is you are beating the shirt up more than I do, which is good for nice fade. I Will post a pic, all the best from the Netherlands

  2. Answering Beautifull Freeks' question: According to OD, Yes. Those 4 dyed wefts are also 40 th anniversary models. They each represent a different season (blossem dye for spring for instance). Compliments for the G-002! I also prefer straight models with a mid rise. Will post a pic of my D1714. Also not into tapered cuts, i ordered one though. Could not resistent the natural dyed fox cotton in green.

SDA is very innovative the last months/year. I read somewhere they had a change in management (something similar TFH is undergoing maybe?!). Maybe that’s the reason?
They shell out a big range of denim and models lately (they always did that to an extent) but in contrary to Samurai, the new models are all quite wearable and not too overdone in terms of details. Except for the crazy jeans of course :D

But it’s just too many, you feel kinda flooded. Brands like Warehouse or Sugar Cane are offering a manageable amount of new jeans but when you see Samurai, Oni or now SDA they have a new model every other week.
    To counteract a shrinking market?

I still like a lot SDA is doing and they are pushing the limits without overplaying it (most of the time) but none of the new stuff interests me so much that I would want to buy it.
Also too many special editions and limited releases (that said, the Suvin Gold 1755 and the G3 denim line jeans seem to be a staple and are regularly restocked).

Upon reading through the Leepro thread, I found posts about my old D1388. You also reminded me about them and now I miss them :D

Maybe the large amount of different offerings has to do with their 40th anniversary? Some kind of midlifecrisis crisis. I agree, those offerings with different kinds of denim in one piece of clothing are too much. On the other hand, I’m really happy with those fox denim offerings

More announcements of 40th Anniversary pieces in various dyes ... all in exactly the same low-rise relaxed tapered cut.

Low rise? I thought the rise was higher than my D1714’s (size 30). But i’m not an expert on fits, maybe i should not compare with size 30?

What do you Guys think about the dyes? Worth getting a pair? I was interested in the cherry blossom dye, but I wonder if anyone besides me, Will notice? I mean non-denim connaisseurs, like my mom or sister.

SDA used to make the 001 (straight, equivalent to the 101) and 003 (tighter, straight fit, equivalent to the 103) in 14oz left hand twill. I still have a pair of raw 001s in my stockpile. I don’t think they’re made anymore but you should search for ‘SD-001’ or ‘SD-003’ if you’re interested.

Thanks! Gonny have a look. Otherwise it is just waiting, other brands don’t seem to have any left hand twill. Iron heart does, but that brand does not appeal to me very much. The Flat HEAD would be ok.

  6. I am looking for a left hand pair of straight jeans, preferabele by SDA. Have checked and asked OD and Deminio, but they have nothing. Matter of patience or does anyone of you know of a nice pair?

  7. I have checked the up coming jeans for the 40th anniversary. I also noticed a anniversary jacket, a type 1. Can we expect more items, items that cannot yet be seen on the SDA-website? I would like a type II.

    OK - here we go...

G-001 W33 washed and stretched, but not really broken-in or worn - I believe there might be some more stretch left in the waist, if needed
    Waist 43.0cm
    Front Rise 28.0cm
    Back Rise 38.0cm
    Thigh 33.0cm
    Knee 23.5cm
    Hem 22.0cm
    Inseam 88.5cm

Thanks Foxy2! Really helpfull. A bit confusing as well. When comparing these measurements with the ones on OD, one might think they did not shrink in the Washing proces. I guess i Will be ok with size 31. 33 is too big, 32 as well (probably size 32 has a waist of 42).

    kind regards from the Netherlands

I can measure the G-001 in W33 (after washing) and you can compared it to the charts and actual measurements of your current pair...

I would appreciate that very much foxy2! What i notice from comparing size information of OD is that the differente in the waist is quitte big, 4 centimeters. Other measurements are close, front rise 1 cm, back rise half a cm. Guess i need to size up to 31, waist is stil smaller in that size but maybe it is compensated by the higher front and back rise? Your measurements can help to decide, i need to end up at a waist of at kwast 80. Thanks in Ada NEC!

If memory serves me right those D1714 were based on a 103 cut - that would mean you could go with the same size on the G-001 - in theory...

what I don’t know how the close sizing of the D1714 followed that of the standard 103’s.

I think you are right. I have looked at 103 and D1714. They differ quitte a lot looking at the waist. Size 30 of d1714 had a waist of 84. The waist of size 30 in 103 is 78. I have the impression G-001 is more like 103. But then, looking at the waist i should go for size 33. I am quitte slim, 185 and 72 kilo. Hope you, Foxy2, or someone else can shed a light. It is Much appreciated! Kind regards from the Netherlands.

  11. Hi everybody,

Here a question from a dutch SDA-fan. As there are no dutch retailers selling SDA, i buy online. I have a pair of D1714, size 30. Bought them at OD. Happy with these. Now I want G-001, from PSA. But which size? Looking at the size table of OD the same waist size, 84 cm, in raw as D1714 is size 32. Fit of G-001 is regular straight, D1714 is slim straight (i think). I had hoped that size 30 in D1714 meent size 30 in all other SDA-jeans. But now i am not so sure about that. Anyone who can help getting a better understanding? Kind regards
