  1. Roy Denim Very Nice Pocket Bag Jeans 32 unhemmed

I have a new pair of Roy's Very Nice Pocket Bag Jeans, sold exclusively at Self Edge and still with the pocket tag affixed. The wings of the tag are a bit wrinkled, they came to me like that.

Heads up that the waist is smaller than my other size 32 Roys, which preclude me from wearing them. I wore them around the house for an hour or two, so there are some light creases behind the knees, but those would quickly work out (see photo).

If I recall and based on the leg twist, these are cold rinsed (can't confirm because Self Edge took the page down for them).

Inseam is 35.5" (original hem), hem is 8.5"

  2. I personally welcome the long inseam, and was willing to consider the cinch back, but I cannot abide by the crotch rivet. Can't please all of the people all of the time! I'll see if I can hold out for the next delivery of OA01.

I just snagged a pair of the Roy x SE R01s (size 31) and for a high-waisted jean they fit me TTS on the initial try-on. I put them through a hot machine wash (no spin), and hang dried. The waist shrunk down from 31.25" >> 30", and after roughly 4 hours of wear around they house they easily stretch out to almost 32". 32" is comfortably loose on me, and I am interested in getting all the shrinkage out of these that I can without going too crazy on the waist. That said: Can anyone attest to the ability of Cone Black Seed to stretch back out to raw measurements in the waist after a machine wash AND machine dry, perhaps on low? If I'm knocking the gate to a world of pain, let me know, and I will take heed.

I don't tumble dry my jeans, but on low I assume they will stretch back. I line dry mine and the waist does stretch back. Sounds like this might be your first pair of unsanforized... remember tumble drying will shrink all of the dimensions, but not everything stretches back like the waist does. But really, we are talking quarters of inches here, so don't lose sleep over it!

  4. A "long" time ago (2011?) I was in dad-jean mode and picked up a pair of washed, non-selvage Todd Shelton jeans due to the long inseam option. Customer service was great and the fit was just what I needed. I discarded them when I blew out the crotch -- shame I didn't know about darning back then.

Does anyone have fully shrunk measurements for the RS00 in a size 34? I’m kinda nervous about the rise shrinking below 11” if I end up putting them in the dryer. Usually I wear a 32 or 33 but given how I wash and how the black seed denim reportedly shrinks, I figure I’d size up.

I'm too lazy to measure but I'm pretty sure my Test Lot (which I think is the same pattern as RS with a couple style changes) in size 32 has a 10.75" inseam after several machine washes and air dries. The raw measurement was 11.42".  The waist will stretch back to raw, not sure if you'd be OK with that in a size 34.

  6. How's the pocket usability on OA01s? One thing that I like about my Roy Test Lots is that it's easy to (gasp!) get things into and out of the pockets. Wish I could say the same for my Left Fields.

OK, so these have been worn for a few weeks since the second wash. The front rise is approx 11.5” if I don’t straighten it, about 11.75” if I straighten it out and 12” if I pull it firmly. There you have it, horse’s mouth and all that.

Thanks for the measurements. I figured that the retailers' measurements were off, but this is *front rise* we're talking about! This puts the 0901s back on my list.

  8. 0105EX one-wash size 32 arrived yesterday, my first pair of Full Count. Measurements essentially match what okayamadenim has posted. I haven't bought one-wash before, but I was unsure about the inseam and wanted to sell with tags if they didn't work out. Anyway, they definitely aren't trying to be gentle with the wash because there are lots of crinkles, even in the patch! Also, the pockets seem a bit shallow but usable and I can at least get my hand in there.

However, when I bought my 1st pair of XXs last summer, I went for a 33 to get the longer length.

Hmm, I was just considering doing the same. Where do you reckon the inseam ended up after a few washes?

Love Roy's hems and how they rope. My Lot 00's fresh out of the wash.

Nice update, I've been babying my Lot 00s but looks like they enjoy being washed. Looks like your patch has been through hell! When my pair was new, the patch was a beautiful rectangle of shiny leather.
