Good stretch! Almost picked up a pair from BIG a few days ago, but managed to wait:) Need to use what I have for no ... Although a bit tired of the antfit/boxy 50s fit:)

Fair call. I did notice BiG had a decent sale on Resolute which is hard to come by.

I also found myself wanting to try a different fit so this was a pleasant surprise. I'll continue to like looser fits though!

Anyone doing a No Buy 2020? I think I may buy 1 pair of jeans (something I’ve had my eye on) but other than that I’m trying to buy nothing else (again) unless I’m replacing something that has worn out or I’m selling. I failed last year but didn’t do too badly.

Hmmmm difficult to say. I've tried in the past but failed as well. I reckon I should be able to hold off from buying denim pants in 2020, but I might struggle with other items like shirts, jackets, etc.

Are you limiting your no-buy to jeans only?

@propellerbeanie Nice fit! What is the actual waist measurements now?

Thanks, the waist now measures 41.5cm compared to its starting width of 40cm. It started off on the loose side, so I suspect it has the potential to stretch further if put under more pressure. Thinking of getting a pair yourself?

Shorten them a bit and you have a great fitting pair!

Thanks! This length gives me the option to cuff or leave them uncuffed when wearing sneakers. I'm into the rather sloppy casual style these days haha

  5. Thought it would be appropriate for me to finally post some fit pictures of my 710s...

They're great as an everyday jean that just look "normal" (i.e. no-frills, regular leg length, not too tight/loose). In saying that, further down the track, I might look into getting a second pair with a slightly shorter inseam to wear on smarter occasions. My 711s have been tossed into the wash and have been put on ice for a bit while I enjoy these!

They're a size 33x33 (I'm 170cm/70kg for reference). I think this is as slim as I'd go, so I'm glad I got these over the size 32!

  6. Haven't tried Wesco yet, but I like looking at the JP blog because they usually have some interesting/nice makeups. I'm liking the different JH Classics (the burgundy one in particular)...

Got a pair of Standard in double black. Very happy with the quality of the work. The denim feels quite light but crisp and tight, nearly shiny when new. I put them in the wash.

I was taking a peek at the Dawson website the other day but I didn't see the Standard available in black (saw it in the slim and wide cuts only). Was it something you had specially made?

  8. I tend to get one-wash jeans these days. If I'm worried there's still some shrinkage left in a one-wash pair then I'll just wash them again before wearing. When I bought unwashed jeans, I double washed them anyway so it hasn't made a difference to me.

To be honest, I've never been a fan of having my jeans gradually shrink with every wash. That's why I don't do simple cold/hot soaks and line dries, but rather machine washes and tumble dries.

@volvo240thebest soon, just give me a few days :D

You need to get the white version now! B)

In saying that, has anyone ordered any of the white ones? I'm not game enough to wear white because I will get them filthy without even trying. If I had any skills in dying things, it would be neat to try with the white ones

    Thanks! :)

No, I didn't get much more shrinkage even with the dryer. The legtwist and roping became even more visible, and the inseam got 2cm shorter but that's about it @SmokeStackLightning

If yours got ~2cm shorter for the one-wash, I should chuck my pair in for a spin before I continue wearing mine.

I'm jealous of your bandana too. I've gotten stickers but unfortunately no bandanas!

Update: I hot machine washed and tumble dried my pair... The inseam lost around 2cm but all other dimensions basically stayed the same. Denim is also a bit softer/easier to wear now.

If I can’t get it sold in the next week or so I’m gonna bring it to a jewelers I know in town and sell it on consignment , don’t want to but ???

I know that feeling =/ It's a beautiful watch but I'm not at a stage in my life where I need something like this just yet. Best of luck with the sale! =)

Can anyone comment about sizing for Lot 900xx (Slim) One Wash on the Warehouse website?  I reached out to them to see if the measurements that are provided are raw measurements or one wash measurements and did not get a clear response back.  I am asking because the measurements that are on their website differ from those on the Standard & Strange website by quite a bit.  My assumption is that the measurements on their site are raw measurements even though it is for a one washed product.

The measurements on the WH website are definitely one-wash. If you're referring to the waist and thigh measurements, S&S measure them differently from what most people are used to (i.e. waist is measured without aligning the waistband and thigh is measured 1" down from crotch). Check it out here https://standardandstrange.com/pages/how-we-measure. The conversion for other measurements seem quite similar to me.

Thanks bobby Still no leg twist though  :-/

Upon further reading/research (if I can call it that), it seems that some 710s will just never develop leg twist =/ I'm honestly not sure why this would be the case and still remains a mystery to me. Does it depend on what part of the roll is used? I can't imagine they would be sewn differently? These pictures show 710s that have clearly been worn and washed so I really don't know.
