? depop.com/outlier has no returns. I wasn't being misleading; get your facts straight.

Not sure what their customer service has to do with their release process here. I'll state explicitly again that I'm a fan of Outlier and their products. I'll also add that I'm a fan of their customer service. That doesn't mean I have to be a fan of their release process.

It came across in your previous post that they dont accept returns in general. Hence why I said it’s misleading. The majority of people are more aware of the mothersite I’d hazard to guess.

  2. It’s misleading to state they have no returns as it only applies to the experimental pieces. Which are less than integral to their base brand. In fact they are very up front about the concept and design in my experiences reaching out to them multiple times in the past. For instance- fairly recently I was interested in their dyneema jeans and they were very forthright about how difficult it would be to alter them for a standard tailor. I wasn’t given any type of sales pitch or brush off. Their customer service has been both fastidious and welcoming.

And I think you’re mistaking criticism for personal bias. Which is fine, but call it what it is.

At least they’re not charging premiums for branded tees that have poetic descriptions attached to them to excuse the price hikes...

I wasn't a fan of Acrnm's SS18 drip-drip release schedule and the hype and prices are rising rapidly. But Acrnm has actual retailers and puts out more stock of the hyped pieces. Also Acrnm has a predictable progression of releases so it's easier to integrate products from their collection.

Just because I'm not a fan of their approach to releasing products doesn't mean I'm not a fan of the brand and/or the products. So back to the experiments 118, 119, 120. Can we discuss em? Did anyone order one?

I’m not sure why you’re calling out a brand named Outlier for doing things the way the deem fit for their brand? Who cares how they release, when they release, where they release, and how those releases ‘integrate’. It feels like brand mentality is what you’re pointing at, but I feel like you’re approaching it from an outmoded perspective. It appears to me that Outlier have the means and ways to eschew the norms in that regard. Our philosophies on this obviously differ as I was elated to see ACR going the random drops route (pricing though- yeah that was a quick ascent I’ll agree for sure). Is it frustrating if you miss a piece- of course. Is it fucking awesome if you caught that one drop- fuck yes! But are you privileged enough to think you’re owed that piece because whatever the fuck fill in the blank-ness...?

In the long run none of us really truly need this shit to survive. It’s fun to play with in many respects, and also has very utilitarian aspects and overall usefulness if done right. I just don’t see the point in giving Outlier shit for doing it their own way and saying fuck the whatever zeitgeist. Which isn’t to say I respect or crave all of their pieces. I had a pair of new denim, and they didn’t fit my aesthetics. I appreciated the thought and time put into them. Passed them on to a friend that’s a bit less tech wear oriented than I am, and he’s fucking elated by the cut and material. Their shit runs the gamut of grey man to active wear to full fledged ‘new’ shit, which is not the easiest to pull off imo.

TLDR: I hate their onsite modeling/branding but I like their chutzpah and general design sense. YMMV

which t-shirts, which pants? 10 years and their selection is still Ultrafine Tees and Slim Dungarees? What's the point of all these experiments? When the ramie is well stocked in the summer, the feral waffle in the winter, and the dreamweight all year round, then their basics would be worth pointing out.

I’m guessing you’re not an ACR fan either?

Thanks. Missed out on SISP while browsing but picked up a pair of GTX NMD's for 110€ + ship.

Still unsure if I like them though

I felt the same. Then said fuck it and took a seam ripper to the front pull tab ribbon and removed the clunky shock cord.

    Now I like them.

  6. If both chest pouches were somewhat loaded it probably wouldn’t feel tooo awkward I’m guessing. I’m more interested in how much of a pain in the ass it is to mount shit to that internal TS? And how useful it is based on that...?

Thanks for sharing. From the product shots, I also thought the collar on the 47 looked slightly revised. With the hood out, the TS seems to hold its shape better, which is something that has always bothered me on my 47R.

One question: Does the 47TS have the same high pocket that the 47, 47A, and 47R have or does it only have the one that dips down like the 47A? Surprised the product shots don't show the full pocket array.

I was curious about that as well. The chest pocket configuration on the 47R can be... interesting to work with at times. I’d almost rather it was a one way zip, as opposed to how it works on both. Can be a bit frustrating trying to remember where you started and stopped the zips in relation to the inner pocket, which I really like in practice, but takes a lot of practice to get used to getting the zips right so you don’t have to open both. The other pockets on the TS and previous iterations look cool, but I just can’t see myself actually using them by and large. And the TS rail itself- see my above comment about pockets.

    What he said.

This is the last free information I give on this matter—I've written about this exhaustively in my post history and me and @Voyager have compiled this numerous times. I've told you guys you have to contest pre-entry into the US. With regard to post-entry classification it's a refund of customs. The procedure is documenting the correct duty versus the overpaid duty that's why they're charging $90 for the service.

HS = international harmonized schedule, HTS = US schedule.

I’d just like to express my appreciation of the work that both of you have put in regarding this. As well as your contributions to material info, item categorization, and general product reviews. It’s members like you that made me appreciate this forum back when I was just a lurker some three years back. Glad to see you’re posting again and sharing your views and opinions.

J48-BR is my favorite hoodie from Acronym in terms of cut and comfort and I wear it to death in the last two years. I think its pattern is similar to the J63A, which is why J63A is one FW18 item that I really am looking forward to. I agree that the shiny patina is not something I am super fond of, but I can accept. I had a light shell jacket from Japanese label Ripvanwinkle that has a similar patina, and it worked well for me. I just hope the Infinium fabric of the J63A can be as tough and water resistant as stotz or CH. I just braved a typhoon (walking ten minutes) with the J59TS-CH and it lasted one minute before I became soaked to the skin. For a non-goretex fabric, it did pretty well.

I’m curious to see durability reports as well, but the description on the mother site sounds less like it’s a fabric based around durability like GTPro and more for comfort like Paclite. I doubt it’s anywhere near as rugged as Stotz. I wore my P10-S daily for about 6 months straight -in a busy kitchen no less, and only had some cuff wear. The phone pocket is starting to fray on one edge now two years later but otherwise they’re strong besides tons of patina and fades. My P10-CH are getting some fraying at the front pockets but are pretty solid otherwise.

Agree on the J46, on the J63A enough is going on that it comes off alright to me. I checked it out in store, it's definitely not the same fabric as PB, feels less soft/smooth and more windstopper-ish

Yeah, see I think it works better with less going on. The busyness accentuates the pleather look IMO. Granted I haven’t seen it/handled it up close so I’m probably(most likely) talking out my ass. I like the idea of it, but it almost has that uncanny valley look to it. I dunno. Not trying to yuck anyone’s yums, just wish it was in a different material.

same. something about it really keeping me from pulling the trigger

It reminds me too much of those overstuffed leather couches from the mid 80’s.

  12. Rando question, if this isn’t a good place to ask delete this shit and I’ll start a thread...

anybody on here tried dying the soles of their sneaks? I got a pair of low top 80’s style Jordan’s that I wanna dye grey. They're black and grey over all but the soles are white and I feel like I’m wearing clown shoes because of it

    Any tips would be appreciated.

  13. I really dig the design of the J63A, but just can’t get with the look of the infinium fabric. Looks too much like a trash bag from the Matrix or some shit. If it was 3XDry I’d be all over that business.

I don't think WS delaminates like GT does as it doesn't have the 3rd layer, just a membrane of ePTFE. Someone correct me if i'm wrong though!

Sorry, I was referring to my J47R-GT from the previous post.

  16. It’s not the washing that I’m nervous about- more the LACK of washing after reports of backing separation in recent posts. I’m just hoping I didn’t wait to long to wash. I wasn’t avoiding it, it just didn’t occur to me as it doesn’t look/feel/smell dirty...

For the delamination of my J47a anyone have and fixes? Thinking about waxing it  or using a bunch of iron on gore-Tex patches on the inside.

I wrote ACR repairs but I don’t really think they’re going to repair it. Seems like it would be pretty major and probably need to be replaced. I talked to a Gore-Tex  repair place in Seattle WA and they said there was nothing they could do. They said where the delamination happened isn’t waterproof anymore so it’s basically just a windbreaker. Going to hold out doing any drastic DIY repairs until I hear back from ACR, but I’m open to ideas.

    Good luck to everyone tomorrow.

I’m gonna wash my J47a tomorrow’s. Luckily I’ve worn it almost exclusively with some type of long sleeve mid layer. Looking at the neck though... little nervous truth be told. Is it just me, or is the wash knowledge not as wide spread as it should be for cash money garms in this respect? I’m really nervous that I didn’t wash my damn J47 100 wears ago:o
