  1. Just picked up a Mission Workshop Stack schoeller denim jacket. I've had tremendous success with the brand in the past with their top notch bags, but I've never had much luck regarding how their clothes fit me. Compared to clothes from other tech brands, theirs just felt lacking in one way or another, be it fit, patterning, fabrics used, etc.

With all that being said, this jacket is a pleasant surprise. Now keep in mind I haven't worn this jacket but a mere 30 minutes, so these are simply initial impressions. Website says it’s deep navy blue but it’s damn close to black which i definitely appreciate (time will tell how the color develops as it ages). It looks like denim. Feels like denim as well. Maybe not 19 oz raw Japanese denim, but more like a high end designer denim although the fabric feels VERY durable. The 4 way stretch is more subtle than I was expecting considering other 4 way Schoeller fabrics. The best part about it, however, is that it fits much better than any other MW garment I've owned. The articulated and reinforced elbows are cut in an aesthetic way and all the little design details just come together really well.

Things I like - front closure can be buttoned or zipped, cuff detail, highly breathable fabric, feels very well constructed

Things I don't like - hand pockets are shallow, front closure zipper is one way (I think I'm spoiled with all these 2 way zippers on all my other jackets)

They are basically the same, elastic hem is tiny bit different, wash tag position changed, that's all I can tell...

Ok so J58 gets a slightly different elastic and the wash tag moves and we get a Gen 1.1

Meanwhile J56 gets a visibly different button system yet remains Gen 1

    Hmmmm

Tried calling one of those following UPS Numbers for my P23-S. My current duties price is $133.18 about ~16% rate.

Lady on the phone told me numbers typically come with 10 digits to change the code. Tried to Google Fu and read through Chapter 62 of https://hts.usitc.gov/current and https://www.customsmobile.com/htsus?chapter=62

Under the above 6203.42.45 it seems like no matter what two numbers you add on the end theres no tax code that makes sense that can lower the rate from 16%.

If anyone  has ideas let me know. Thanks again to the guys that found this stuff in the first place.

You could try just 6203.42.0000 or 6203.42.0300. I'm just guessing here. @CARLOOA may need to chime in with his expertise.

Thanks for the advice, I’m around 5’10 ish and the length is alright. However the hip allowance is rather huge and thinking perhaps size S might fit better.

The difference between M and S in waist is insignificant when you’re looking at just how wide they are. Both M and S are going to be comically too wide. However at 5’ 10” the length of a size M should be close to perfect. If you go smaller you run the risk of them being too short (especially after they shrink a bit which they will being 100% cotton).

    Keep the M. Trust.

seems like it's hit or miss, it's clear that some orders are shipping out. i'm in the same boat as you - order conf + payment conf but no tracking.

I placed three orders on drop day for three separate items (P25H, SM1, J28).

I’ve gotten tracking numbers for two of the three items. I’m assuming it’s the two items I won’t need to pay duties for since they are both out of customs without issue and are on a truck to be delivered today (woo hoo!).

Past four drops it’s been like this for me. Items that require duties required more paperwork on the exporter’s end and they are slow with it. Sometimes takes up to 5 business days. Be patient.

Both my beanie and gaiter are 100% cashllama. Really nice fabric, super warm and comfy. I personally don't find it at all scratchy either like some other wool.

I second this. I have both the beanie and gaiter from last AW. Only issue I have is with the gaiter not bouncing back after repeatedly being stretched putting it on and taking it off. It’s a great fabric. Soft, comfy and warm.

  7. I remember when I was looking at the leaked Phaeton pricing back in early June something didn't seem right. P23A-DS was much more expensive than J56-S. P23A had a listed price of 194,400 Yen. Assuming your standard Japanese markup of 75%, that translates to $1000 and if you add VAT to that it'll be close to $1200.

The good news is that J56-S had a listed price of 132,000 Yen which by the same math translates to $680 without the VAT.

  8. I'm 5' 9" and I have P23TS-CH in size S. I'm pretty much at the limit of what a size S can fit lengthwise. Anyone 5'10" to 6' should go M.

However if my P23's were Stotz I'd feel more comfortable with a M since my Stotz pants end up shrinking about 3%.

Anybody know how much the sm1-am is going to retail for?

NG5-AM retailed for 156 euro without VAT. I'm assuming it'll be around that neighborhood.

I have both. I love them but they're different. They're purely technological demonstrators—the PB material is experimental. I have had the 62 since launch and recently acquired the 63. I am 5'9" 180ish pounds (might've gained more since I got married last month). I've used them in conditions ranging from 50–75F+ light to torrential rain.

62: Flannel backed, seems to be a slightly different shade than the 63, it's smoother than the 63 likely because the backer isn't gridded. Quite light for the insulation. The fabric has a cool "sheen" to it, it's like if Errol-sama skinned a space buffalo. Fits thinner than the 46, closer to the 38. The closeness of the patterning does not restrict movement. Under arm panels are crazy looking despite the simplicity of the rest of the jacket. Two pockets, external and internal sling points—I've kept the sling internal because of the svelte nature of the jacket. Vislon zippers throughout 2 way main, smaller collar zip, and spring locking cuff adjusting zippers, (the puller locks when down preventing the zipper from opening further). The dual position collar is similar to other "sartorial" Acronym. The nature of the jacket gives it a matrix-esque appearance but the lack of hood kind of kills the practicality. I love how it drapes and feels when open, it's got a goldilocks weight, not too heavy and not too light.

63: Gridded fleece backer. It's like Patagonia R1–3 fleece, except softer. Again smaller than other acronym hoodies, I think it's close to the J25 in pattern. Again, nonrestrictive. Full zip hood, vislon zip. The palm portion seems to be made of DS type fabric. 2 way vislon zipper with storm flap. The external pockets have additional space along the sagittal plane while the internal pockets are at holster position. My only issue is with the interior pockets—the bottom of the pocket bags aren't secured to the jacket so it can be hard to close one handed. @Voyager will agree here: this is the coziest/softest/female stealingest technologically advance hoodie that ACRNM has put out—keep it away from your significant other.

Yeah man I've got both too and I agree with pretty much everything. The 63 amazes me at how cozy it is and how appropriate it is at a wide range of temperatures and weather conditions. Never before has a weatherproof jacket been so damn cozy. And I don't know why they are being classified as softshells. These jackets perform as well as hardshells do in the rain. I've been in downpours in the 63 and nothing got through.

Anyone know what the 'H' in P25H-DS alludes to?

Current theory is Heavyweight. Same pant as SS17 done in a heavier weight DS fabric for colder climates.

A good idea, but unfortunately I believe the limiting factor is the production pipeline, not the designs. The factory that makes it can only make so much, and is typically at-capacity.

What about the PB factory? Both of my PB jackets say "made in Austria", which I believe is a different factory. Just sayin...
