I suppose I don't really know the first thing about the process of operating a small inventory, high price retailer. Considering the prices vs something like the archetypal fashion houses, I would assume that margins on Acronym are far smaller. Which could have the potential to seriously harm the longevity of these boutiques if they get stuck with any dead inventory at all? I'm interested to see where this is going over the next few seasons, with the influence of the hype I expect Acronym to continue to raise the prices until they find their price equilibrium on the number of sales made (It's been ages since I took economics, if someone can help me on the name of this concept). After which point, one might assume that they would use the excess revenue to expand the brands production and bring prices back down? Is it even possible to create an economy of scale on a product that is intended to be on the cutting edge year after year?

production possibility frontier or something i think

Anyone else have their paypal payment go through w/o an order confirmation from the main site?

Acronym used to have this issue of delayed emails, didnt happen this time for anyone i know but issue might still be there.

either way theres nothing you can do but sit and watch for an email or a paypal refund

Makes me think this is quite possibly a bait and switch tactic to lure in buyers. Pants are probably one of the hardest pieces within acronym to replicate cause of the extensive panels and intricacies used.

Also no tagged pics and complete reliance on legit product pics means they either dont have the pants to take pictures of or theyre really shitty fakes. The review pics are probably fake reviews cause those review pictures look pretty damn good, almost passable to legit.

  4. no experience with the previous sfb's but i wore them in the rain yesterday and grip seemed fine. not as grippy as my common projects but grippier than most of my NB sneakers.

Was this on pavement/concrete? Previous sfbs were notorious for a slippery death in wet smooth surfaces. Shit even my y3 qasas had more grip in the rain

  5. I'd also recommend the ultrafines but they are drying up on stock due to supply chain issues. Oliver's Apparel has 100% merino tees at a much better price.

Speaking of recs, does anyone know of any good full-zip hoodies for  <=$150? (Preferably with some good specs.).

If you're on a budget; uniqlo or champion reverse weave (not sure if that comes in full zip), if you're after quality; a really good brand would be Reigning Champ

How good is really good you might ask? Good enough that they base their brand around their hoodies and its also what set them off into popularity. Shoulders are raglan cut in the front and regular cut at the back for arm movement

Of course this is for conventional cotton hoodies though, other materials I'm not too sure on for where to find

I think it's Polyester Grosgrain Ribbon. Berisfords brand produce an high quality one if you are about online purchasing.

Just had a look at their main site but can't seem to find any links to buy beside a list of stockists (many of which are really far from where I live; the middle of fucking nowhere, Australia)

Did I look at the wrong website?

i have a 5ts and 6ts blk foil. i find myself using the 6ts as my daily.

i telecommute for work, carrying 15" laptop, wacom tablet, midi keyboard, book or two. so i camp out at an overpriced cafe or library for the day.

i like the comfort of knowing i can always carry more, instead of having to cram it in the 5ts.

unexpected things can be a random stop to the grocery store, a package, outerwear (as it's beginning to get colder) or an extra pair of shoes if i'm riding.

and for days when i'm not carrying much in the 6ts, it can cinch down into a slim profile.

i think it really comes down to assessing ones personal edc habits.

im in the same dilema he is and also looking for a bag, I'm considering between a custom bagjack, 3a-1 (I'll probably buy this anyway at a much later date as it serves a different purpose from the big messengers) or the 5ts/6ts.

How big is the 6ts compressed? Would it be the same size as the 5ts? I think the 5ts size would be perfect but having the added option to expand is a huge plus in my book. (Also the fact that the 6ts is sitting at acrnm while 5ts will have to be sourced preowned, not that I'll be buying soon as 1000€ is a huge chunk for me. The compressed 6ts also looks better then the 5ts imo cause it has straps that dangle from the bottom of the bag)

  8. I just received my prestos and time to add to the confusion; it fits TTS.

I was told to size down (I'm a 10 and went for S) and now it's snug (wearing it unzipped is fine though), my toe touches the tip of the shoe

  9. oh snap! did not notice that in the shipping terms and conditions. my presto order came up to 151euros after VAT deduction so i guess its coming as regular postal service. i thought all orders were sent with UPS.

bright side, might probably not be taxed. down side, i guess gotta wait another 2 weeks :(

like you asked, will i still get shipping confirmation or tracking number though?

edit: not sure what counts as 'specialty goods' but just noticed a line "1 Specialty goods will be shipped directly from producer Uslu Cosmetics GmbH, executed Tuesdays and Fridays via Fedex or DERCourier."

so i guess orders <153euros are shipped every Tue and Fri?

Have a look at your invoice, it'll tell you what shipping option you chose. My prestos were 151 as well but I was charged 49 euro for UPS

  10. Bit confused as the box photos earlier show an XS as being US8-9 whereas it seems they have mapped that to an S on the acrnm site? (i go by the fact there are two sizes below the 8-9 on there)

May be xl or xxl added instead of them just shortening the sizes

  11. I think this style is more hyped than the af1 - but you could get a whole size run from the af1 at firmament after one week earlier this year because they had 100 per colorway.

Unfortunately, firmament has an even higher shipping charge for me, I was going more along the lines of END, Slamjamsocialism, and such eboutiques. But as they generally broadcast/advertise their releases a few days beforehand; I'm not sure if the hype generated from that will cause more difficulty for me compared to just buying from acrnm

  12. Emailed END; they say expect it around next week

Opinions on whether or not this will sell out? I would rather not want to shell out the extra €50 shipping charge from acrnm

  13. If I would be a 9.5 I would have taken the S and that would be fine

Now I have round about 5 mm space between my big toe and the front (with socks). For me it's perfect but you can't go wrong with your normal size anyway if you like a more relaxing fit

Let's say: if you have a wide feet take you standard size (otherwise anybody will see your toes true the material) if you have a sleek one go one size down

So a 10 would be a perfect TTS? (Basically go TTS if your size is in the top bracket of the sizing?)

  14. I think it's a replacement box, Nikelab releases always come in a white box.

Thing is the sticker on the box has all the right details of the acr; the colour code, the product number etc

The shoe itself looks legit (well to me, everything seems right)

  15. Have acronym Nike lunarforces ever come in the regular orange box? There's a listing I'm looking at and it doesn't have the white nikelab box, is that a bit of a red flag?

  16. Re: Mission Workshop Monty

Only passed it on because I had found an all black/no-logo Bagjack messenger with Fidlock Slider buckles in Japan).

As for the techwear aesthetic... I dunno man, It's a good hardwearing bag and looks like a messenger with a rolltop... just buy a black one.

If I buy the MW I intend to have it rolled up as flap down isn't too much to my taste

Besides the mission workshop monty (eye is on the black camo limited edition version), I was looking at the bagjack too, I'm really interested in the fidlock version but the price put me off; my budget is around 300usd (400aud) and if I go past that budget I may as well jump for an acronym 3rd arm

How's the comparison between the mission workshop and bagjack? Also did you buy it from Japan second hand, because if there's a fidlock bagjack that falls within my budget I wouldn't mind going for it, I just need to know where to look haha
