  1. "Kit," those look amazing! Definitely making me want to look into a pair for myself, love the Badlands reference as well!

Anyone care to give me a quick rundown on Warehouse? Or tell me about the pair Kit's wearing?

I like most of the LVC cuts, with my least favorite being the '70s models, and the '54. When I was collecting all the LVCs I wanted before the loss of Cone fabric, I did get the '76s, but I passed on the '54s; that taper was just too much for me. I'd say my favorite is the '55. This sort of cut is what I think of when I think, "classic Levi's 501.

I own a pair of '54 and wear them the least because of that strong taper as well.

pet hatred: the '47: the back pocket arrangement seems all wrong...

'47 is probably my favorite of the ones I've tried, but I know it's a bit of a controversial(?) repro.  What's the issue with the pockets and who makes the best/closest '47 repro?

If it keeps TCB alive, more power to them!

Anyone interested in a pair of size 29 50s for themselves or their girlfriend?  Ordered directly from and hemmed by TCB however they are much smaller than I could ever hope to fit into, washed once only by TCB and worn only to try on.  I can provide measurements and pictures if interested!  I'd like to try again on these but would like to be able to get rid of them before I buy a bigger pair.

Believe it or not, I was able to fit into these after trying for several months.  They're a bit snug around the waist but loosened up just from trying them on, expecting them to stretch more based on what I've read here.  I was ready to pull the trigger on a size up but I'm glad I'll be able to give these some wear instead, was really starting to get jealous of everyone with their great looking pair of 50s on here.

Thanks, but way too short for me.

No problem, that was part of the problem for me too.  The inseam was an inch shorter than what I had asked for, I think I'm gonna have a hard time selling this pair.

Can you get me measurements of the actual pair and I'll take a look

    Sure,

Waist: 28in (measured across and doubled)

    Inseam: 25.5 in

    Back Rise: 14 in

    Hem: 8.5 in

Let me know if you'd like any more measurements.

The sleeves are long enough for me. Should be ok if it shrinks a bit.
I am already thinking about my next pair..

I want something rock and roll next.. seeing American Graffiti again after so long really rubbed off on me.
Whats the best fit out of these?

    1947

    1954z

    1955

also, is the 54z the same fit as the 47?

My next purchase was going to be a 1955 but I never got around to it, I love a 1947.  From what I've read on here it's a slimmed down version of the original but I love it and think it looks very classic. The denim on the 1955 is interesting, it's also a zip fly and it tapers.

My tcb 50s update after about a year or so. They get washed every other week. Possibly my most favorite and most worn jeans as of right now.

These look great, definitely make me wanna try again on another pair of 50s.

  10. Agreed with bF, they're crazy if they think people who REALLY pay attention to this stuff will pay full price for products that aren't even made in the US using Cone Mills anymore.  That was a big part of the appeal of LVC, at least for me.  Glad my pairs of 1947 and 1954 were prior to this change, just wish I would've been able to get my hands on more.

Just out of interest, are you guys looking to diversify to other brands now since LVC gone Bulgaria?

I was hoping to get a pair of 1955s before the switch but that probably won't happen unless I stumble upon a pair.  With that being said, I'll probably go to TCB for 50s stuff as well, even though I mis-sized on my first pair.  (If anyone's looking for TCB 50s pair in a size 29, I'm your guy).

  12. Thanks guys, I ordered a size down because I was worried that my true size would stretch too much and be loose in the waist.  I think I'll list them and try to make them work somehow in the meantime.

  13. Finally purchased a pair of 50s through Inoue, the buying experience was great, he was very responsive and before I even got a chance to ask for shipping information, I had received the jeans.  Bad news is that the waist is way too small, these must've been washed in very hot water, they're size 29 and measure about 26.5.  I also asked for him to hem them for me and ended up getting an inch shorter (asked for 26") than what I asked for.  Now I'm stuck with a pair of jeans that are too short to even sell, learn from my mistakes I guess!

  14. Yeah, it used to be relatively easy to find a variety of styles and sizes on brand new with tags LVC stuff on ebay, I agree that it'll be much harder to do that now though.  I was at the Rose Bowl Flea Market here in Los Angeles recently and found a guy selling bins full of LVC, mostly 1954 strangely.  I actually found a pair of 1955s in my size for $150, I don't know why I didn't buy them cause that's what I'm holding out for on the next sale anyway.  Knowing now that current versions might not even be Made in USA anymore definitely makes me regret not buying them even more considering that his stock was probably older seasons.
