copped a rhomb from deru-store who have a sale, must say first class store, helpful, quick delivery, even had a nice chat on the phone with them.

can anyone who has one of these or the monitor can let me know if you have experiencing any wear, how it's been holding up with use, wearing a backpack, etc?

    Thanks for the hint.

just picked up the Rhomb in XL today.

  2. Tried a few pieces which are on sale currently

cevian shirt xl —> cannot get my head trough the head hole

secant pant xl —> to small for my belly/waist (having a 38/40 waist in jeans)

demlo Jacket alloy xl —> fit similar to nemis Jacket

all my other Veilance is xl and fits tight/ slim

  3. Component Overshirt vs. Isogon Hoody vs. Isogon MX Hoody

I just received the component Overshirt in XL as all my Veilance stuff.

It seems a little tight compared to the Field Overshirt. Especially in the shoulder area.

How is the Isogon Hoody sized with respect to the Component overshirt? I have the Isogon MX Hoody which is a very good fit, is the Isogon Hoody similar?

That said, I usually prefer heavier face fabric

Then you should look out for a Field Jacket (without any extension in the name like IS or LT) from previous seasons. That one had a quite tough face fabric.

that is exactly what puts me off the atom and other mainline items but people here who own the atom sing it’s praises so thought i’d post the suggestion.

Then you should try the LEAF pieces from Arc’teryx, maybe the COLD WX HOODY LT in black. the logo is black on black

  6. The ‚file‘ was a mistake. There was nothing behind it.

The Arris is a much better jacket, better Goretex Version and better cut in my eyes.

I think a Cerium vest in same size from Arc main line will not really fit underneath the Arris. One size smaller might work.

I use the Quoinn vest instead.

    @branespload

You´d recommend the dyadic hoody then? Been eying the for a couple of weeks now and thought it could possibly be a lightweight jacket for mild temperature.

@ all: Did anyone of you consulted the AV customer service for a replacement for the elastic cuffs on an actuator jacket?

I got a new Arris jacket as a replacement for my Actuator jacket. Reason was the elastic at cuffs and waist.

@Chiels ICYMI there's a pic of the sample in Ash. it's like a simplified monitor coat. no chest pocket or anything. also, monitor coat w/ goretex pro is still a thing. black and dark navy for ss18. probably wont change for fw18 since it's a year round piece

Is the new Monitor SL still GTX?

I've found the underarm gussets on the Field to to be cut rather high and limit layering. Do you experience any discomfort layering the Quoin?

no I don’t have this issue within the underarm gussets.

No discomfort experienced with Quoinn jacket/vest or Mionn IS when layering under Field (or Field LT). Quoinn is similiar under Arris, Sleeves get a little tight but still ok.

Mionn IS doesn‘t fit under Arris

  11. Quoinn jacket is much thinner than Mionn. It can be packed into one of its pockets. It packs very small. It’s cut a little larger than the Veilance blazers but still slim fit and with insulation.

I wear it solo up to 15-18°C, under Arris or Field jacket down to 0-5°C.

    Do you have other questions?

And it shall be the same batch but dyed in different color. I experienced similar sizing issue in Voroni SS version, but it is because the batch is different. The 08/16 is also like one inch smaller than 01/17. It is really a risk for those Veilance user like me who buy most of the items oversea. Simply because we only have agent rather than direct Arc'teryx store in my country. The agent buyers picked only few items rather than the whole series.

I still don't understand why it is different sizing in different color, since both Black and Peat need to be dyed... And if fabric relaxing is an issue, then it means the factory didn't wait enough time for the fabrics to relax...it's alarming.

It seems that you have 2 different sizes.

One in 32-32 and the other in 30-32

  13. Currently I’m using the Nomin V1.1 (ripstop outer material). I’m very happy with it.

I use it with the following stuff on my daily commute:

Main compartment including divider: 13” Lenovo in a Neopren sleeve, eagle creek half cube (waterproof) filled with my sport clothes and towel, flattened seque tote, knife and flashlight in flat bonded pocket, sometimes also additional a Apple iPad Pro 12” in Neopren sleeve

Front compartment: wallet, 2 phones, keys, pens, cables, other small stuff

If the Apple iPad is I included the whole bag is very tightly closed, without it it’s perfectly fine

Luckily I have a spare Nomin V1.2 (plain outer material) on stock.
