  1. Thought I would post some photos of a well worn Iron Heart shirt… that’s white!
This is the IHSH-202-wht, white (or natural) chambray, pimped with turquoise snaps. I decided when I got it I could either try to keep it pristine or beat the crap out of it. The latter is easier to do, and more fun. About 40 days, no washes. Pretty interesting to see reverse fades, as it’s gathered dirt and indigo over the years. Still getting some nice roping, haha!

  2. Not much to add, but I agree a very dick move. I don’t know how/if someone in Japan could sue someone in China. Is that even possible? Isn’t some inverse of that what has protected those Japanese denim makers using tabs and arcs from the litigious arms of Levi’s?

I used to work in the wine world, and auctions are a big part of sales in the rare/older/big name side of things. Auction houses publish catalogs, photographed by their people. You can have a catalog, and buy the wine, but you don’t own the photos, which are often also published online.

Sounds like this is a bit of a different situation than Christie’s or whoever, but not sure how buying the item for sale gives you ownership of all past images taken of said item, especially if they’re just floating around on the internet. Or why someone would even think that was true in the first place.

  3. One less pair of unworn Roys after today. I should’ve gotten one size up, but I’m pretty lean right now with my A race in ~two weeks, so it seemed like a good time to get them soaked and hopefully stretched out a little!

One thought that occurred to me: maybe he wants a bigger piece of that resale pie? Which is to say, if he sold for 40k yen, and they’re going on the secondary market for 80k+, why not charge more in the first place?

(kinda screwed that up, was quoting the auction pricing)

Anypone else saw the price for the new M47 "Grand Opening" jeans? 60.000 Yen is a statement. I'm sure they will still sell though...

The video posted on the last page really piqued my interest to try to obtain the unobtainable. But at that price, ouch. I am surprised there is that much of a market in Japan, seems like it would be pretty limited and that he could do more business internationally if he wanted. Guess there is a lot more interest there than I would’ve thought.

@Flash tempting and good price, but I think too big for me. One size down probably needed. The secondary market seems like all I could afford or even get in the first place.

  6. Just remember four wheel drive isn’t four wheel stop as Texans learned a few days ago!

On another note, I got the second dose of the Moderna Covid vaccine last week and wanted to report back. Definitely had side effects this time. Got the shot at noon and by 7 that night my arm was swollen and very sore, worse than the first time and that took a day or two to come on. That night I had chills and a low grade fever. The next day I felt super fatigued- as bad as the worst I felt when I had cancer. Just absolutely wiped out and no motivation to do much of anything.
By the next day, I was back to normal and feeling a lot better. The day after that I got up early and did a medium length trail run. So while intense, the side effects were short lived and certainly worth it in my opinion vs the unknown and possibly much longer lasting side effects from covid itself. Though who knows, maybe I’ll grow a tail in a month or two!

  7. I was the victim of a flipper once- seemed really interested in the pair, extra measurements and photos and came down from an already great price as the buyer seemed genuinely interested. Next week I saw the pair for sale from my buyer for nearly triple what they paid. Kinda irked me, but once they’re out of my hands, it’s no longer mine and not my call.
Good luck if you go for them!

Lookin’ good! And yes, with the interesting but awkward to access in public inner coin pocket. It’s been a long time since he’s made bottoms in something other than denim, would be cool to see something new in that vein.

  9. @chicotethat shirt looks great on you! I don’t have any of his shirts (yet) but agree that his bottoms seem almost tailored to me. All the different cuts that I have are very flattering to my body type.

@longshanks I was eyeing that pair too, but decided they were too big and I therefore wouldn’t wear them.
Here they are with a pair of the SE ducks.

  10. Picked up a in good shape/minimally worn Liberty CPO from eBay. I need to stop browsing!
One of the neck buttons is missing, but otherwise minimal fading and no damage. Had a lot of fuzz on it, so that was kind of annoying. But it might just be one of those fabrics that attracts it. I’ve collected a lot of deer and elk antler sheds hiking over the years, think I will make a replacement button out of that. Seems true to the spirit of the shirt.
