Frustrating experience getting the site to work, which it never did. Guess it’s money I didn’t need to spend, but would’ve liked to get something.
oh well!

Roy “OG” jeans. Not sure when these were made, got them off eBay years ago and that is what the seller said. Have a thick older patch.
The seller didn’t know or disclose that the waist had been modified as some point, and I didn’t notice either until I took the time to look. You can’t tell from the outside. I’d keep them myself but they are too small.
W- 14.75Fr- 9.5
RR- 14.25
Thigh 2 inches down- 10.75
Knee 13 inches down- 8
Hem- 7.25
Length- 35.5
I forgot to take a overall photo of the back. Minimal fading and in great shape all around, the only issue is the waist and you can really only tell from the inside. There are no other modifications I can find. Happy to provide any photos you’d like. Thinking 200 shipped in the us.

I’ve been looking for new optical glasses as I have a lot of FSA money set to expire in March. Brands I’ve liked: Lesca, Dandy’s, Andy Wolf, Jacques Marie Mage (but $$$). Maui Jim looks nice too, but I wear optical most of the time. When I do contacts and sunglasses, they are a little pricey to risk dropping or damaging whilst adventuring outside.
I bought from ivisionari.com and had a good experience, even with shipping their prices on euro brands are well below what you’d pay over here, and they also take FSA though sunglasses aren’t eligible.

I’m sure some of you have seen this story by now, but a pair of miners pants (some are saying jeans, but the weave looks like 1x1 duck to me) BELIEVED to be made by Levi Strauss himself were recovered from an 1857 shipwreck and sold at auction last week for 95k, I think I saw 120k including buyers premium. They were in a wood chest and in contact with other things, hence the coloration.
The evidence of Mr. Strauss being involved in their manufacture seems flimsy at best-“While the original color of the pants is unknown, the 5-button fly "strongly suggests these were an early manufacture of work pants sold by Levi Strauss," the auction site Holabird wrote."The five-button fly is nearly identical, if not technically identical, to Levis of today," the site said.
I’m no expert, but the fly does not appear identical to the Levi’s of today, other than that it has five buttons.

Posting these here- the brand isn’t unknown, but he also doesn’t do much denim, so no point in starting a thread.
Sidnaw Company denim pants, these were released about a year ago as a limited run. It’s a 16.5 oz Cone Mills denim that was then waxed by Fairfield Textiles, cut and sewn by Rusty himself. All single needle, so lacking some features you’d expect like chain stitching or bartacks. Cool copper hardware all backed with leather. Cut is fuller and roomy.
I’ve only seen waxed denim in the context of fashion, so thought this would be an interesting pair. And behold, waxed denim does fade, albeit more slowly. It also seems to be darkening in places, as you normally see on waxed fabrics that are lighter in color. Wearing these for the indigo invitational. At ~170 days before a rewax using Martexin:8 -

Here’s my final photos. I can thank my now 2 year old daughter for help in developing the combs; she was 7 months old when the contest started and I spent a lot of time sitting or crouched on the floor playing with her. I counted 426 days of wear in the end- sure I missed a few and I took about a month off to wear something else for a change. Didn’t wash much at first but more frequently as time went on. The only repairs I did were to the pockets, mainly so I didn’t loose anything.
I didn’t really like the cut at first. I’m a slim/athletic build and these were quite a departure from my usual preferred slim straight cuts, but it certainly grew on me. Now I’m back in a pre contest pair and they felt ridiculously tight at first!
Thanks to all for participating. It was fun to see everyone’s posts along the way and to see small snapshots of your lives and world.

Saw this recently posted video of Kaoru, who makes the M-54 model and probably some other stuff too as the “2nd generation”. Shot in real time for the most part, looks like it takes about an hour per pair, not including cutting the fabric. Same user also has a few other videos of CSF jeans.

Same! Or if not a contest, perhaps a group buy?

@CSL pretty much. Someone will probably start a final submissions thread, and you can add final and progress pics and any thoughts. There will be some time limit, say two weeks, to submit photos before judging. Several of the Japanese contestants are on IG only, so I guess they will be submitting photos here.

401 wear days and just gave them their 6th wash. No darns, but good to know darns can be darned upon! Got through the left knee, but won’t do any repairs at this point.
A few recent other photos:
Looking down to Boulder, Colorado from Gold Run Road.
I didn’t.

I thought it was 18 months, which would mean the end of February, since it started September 1st.

381 wear days in… discovered that both pocket bags have blown out, so I’m not wearing them today so as to not loose anything and going to patch em tonight. Hole in the back pocket as well, don’t think I’ll repair at this point with ~1.5 months left. Probably won’t wear them much once the contest is over. Not that I don’t like them, but have the same problem as many of you. Too many jeans and not enough legs!
I have to say wearing a normal slim straight cut feels very odd and a pair that was previously a favorite feels too tight. Or did at first, feeling better with a few hours of wear.34 -
My blog, which is absolutely not denim related, but still might be of interest to some of you. The focus is hiking, trail running, snowshoeing, and generally being outside in and around Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado.

Not great mirror shot, but hopefully this gives some idea of the fit. Definitely slimmer and the white fabric is pretty gauzy. I’m 5’10” and 135 lbs, slim/athletic build. Went with a small which is what I take in all tshirts I can think of. It’s a 50/50 cotton poly blend, so hopefully no shrink, but it feels like it’ll stretch right back out too. With the TCB WW2 contest pair and their very high waist.

That was my experience too! I could eventually get them in the cart but then when I’d get to checkout it would say they weren’t available, but they were still showing as such. But again money I didn’t need to spend.
