It's the Geisha denim so plenty of examples out there :)

that's interesting. The same denim as the samurai denimio collab from few years back?

From the pics, it looks different to the geisha denim, but maybe it's the way pics are taken and/or i'm just blind

Bourbon followed by denim purchases,  we've all been there...

Check Rivet and Hide out, there shipping is great, good stock selection,  spot on measurements on the site.

@i_denimYup, they are excellent. Plus this weekend they are having 15% sale on most of their stuff in store. Great opportunity to buy something. I know I will be making use of it

  3. Some colabs are definitely on the gimmicky side.
Other colabs (usually with western retailers) are not so much, as the changes they make are more to make it more practical for their customer base. For example larger/deeper pockets, or a higher rise...things like that.

  4. Yea I think 3sixteen is quality, up there with many of the japanese brands. I'm a bit of a snob, always go with the japanese brands, but 3sixteen is the one non japanese brand whose clothing I would have no problem buying.

I've got the shadow selvedge type 3 jacket and it is awesome.

  5. Because Pure Blue Japan have imposed international pricing. Okayama Denim is aimed at the international market, thus for them to keep the PBJ account, they had to price it at the international price.

If you physically go to a Japanese store and buy PBJ, you will pay the japanese price.

  6. Got the lot.840 a couple weeks ago. I got it because it's made of US cone denim, and since that's becoming extinct, thought why not. Jeans made in Japan out of american denim, usually it's the other way around.

These are a simple clean looking pair of jeans. Nothing fancy. Really well made with solid stitching and only a few loose threads. Horse leather patch. Branded buttons and rivets. The buttons do look and feel cheap though, reminds of the plasticky material used in cheap trophies.

Also, the front pocket openings are big. A welcome surprise.

The denim is 13.75oz right hand twill red selvedge Cone Denim. The weft is really soft to the touch, it feels great. Nothing going on with the warp really, but I expect that will change after a wash or two. The denim also feels light, comparable to a 11oz pair of jeans I have. Does this sound like a special run of cone denim or is it one of the standard cone denim on offer?

I need to soak it to get rid of shrink, but I like the fit. Modern slim silhouette which suits these jeans.

Tag size 32, pre soak measurements are below. Pre soak fit pics are further below.

    waist: 33in
    FR: 10.2in
    BR: 13.4in
    U.Thigh:  11.5in
    Knee: 8.2in
    Leg Opening: 7.2in

  7. never seen em myself, but you might want to consider the weight, it's toward the heavyweight spectrum of denim. From what I gather, the stuff you have been looking at in other brands is more around the midweight (13-15oz). Also I am guessing the g-star jeans you are used to are around the 13oz mark.

I'd love to hear more about the 0901s. @Maynard Friedman I saw you say in the "lowriding sun" thread that your tag 32 pair has an 11.75" front rise, but the size charts on denimio and okayama denim show 11".

First rule of Sufu club: Always trust the measurements of a sufu member over denimio and okayama denim

Just curious, what image host do you use as I'm never able to see any of the pics you post, only these references to pic names

    I use postimages.org

Strange you can only see pic name references. Wonder if it's the same for anyone else

  10. I just got a pair of Burgus Plus lot.840, which is made from 13.75oz redline cone denim, and holy shit does it feel so good when I put it on! The weft is soft and lovely to the touch. The denim as a whole feels very light.

It's totally different to the denim in the LVC 66 and 76 pairs I picked up last year. I really like this denim already. I want to find out more about it and wonder if it's been used in other jeans.

I will post pictures and more info on jeans themselves at weekend in the burgus plus thread, but link from where i bought is: https://global.rakuten.com/en/store/hinoya/item/840-cd01/

  11. You can find pairs of momos with stealth stripes or completely without battle stripes.

I'll try to get fit pics. Tight tapered (or anything similar sounding) does not neccessarily mean the front rise should be low low.

Always like to see a new pair of Momotaro; let’s seem em in a couple of years!

I have so many pairs of unworn jeans now it's kinda insane. Trying to figure out when I can wear them all.

  12. Bought the 0306-14sp couple weeks ago. An alcoholised impulse buy.

It has a lovely colour to it due to the deep indigo warp and the cobalt blue weft. The denim itself is nothing special really, but i felt the same way about the copper label denim at first, and after a couple of washes, the character of the denim really came out. So i'm hoping the same would happen with this denim.

I'm a fan of Momotaro detailing (although not too keen on battle stripes), and it's all here. Branded buttons and branded copper rivets. detailed pocket bags. yellow, orangey stitching with pink inseam stitch. cow suede patch.

Fit is good. Wish the leg opening was bigger though.

    Tag size 31 measurements:

    Waist: 32.2 inches

    FR: 10.5 inches

    Thigh: 11.8 inches

    Knee: 8 inches

    LO: 6.5 inches
