  1. At this point, I'd be skeptical of anyone with less than a 10 feedback score on Grailed. Something tells me that's probably the same guy.

hah yea, I've asked him for his paypal addy - to see if its verified.

I'm a little bit sketched out by ppl with no feedback history and who've dropped prices within a day of posting items.

  2. there always seem to be a consistent amount of J32 and J27 on grailed up for grabs. why is that? Is the fit not what people expect? Are they too "plain" of pieces to have dropped ACR-tier cash money on?

I think for a lot of people it is too "plain".  There are a lot of cheaper alternatives for a similar "plain" aesthetic (lack of over pockets, etc - which is why you see a lot more J47s over J47As for sale.)  I think for some people when they buy Acronym, they want it scream Acronym.  Personally I love both.  My J32 is my every day jacket and its amazing.

  5. I can't help but share this since it's roughly 10 years in the making. I missed out on the Silver Foil 3A-1 but I'm very happy to have added the 3A-3TS-SVR to my collection. Limonta on my original 3A-1 has aged very well, although 2 of the zippers are no longer functional. Here's to hoping Errolson re-releases the white 3A-1 in the future! or if any of you feel like parting with yours, let me know :)

  8. ordered the J25-WS last thursday of acrnm.com and payed thru paypal. have not received a single email or anything. anybody else facing similar problems?

you just have to be patient, difficult I know but you will get your stuff.

acronym are a small outfit and with these seasonal drops they get crazy busy with mad amounts of orders. made a couple of small orders outside of these drops and it still took a while.

Good advice.  He literally posted his J25 on IG like half an hour ago lol

  9. Question about the J28-K:  Is the fit thinner than the J28-GT/E?  I owned the J28-E and that was a very wide jacket; the measurements online make the J28-K to be a lot thinner.

    Thanks!

  10. Hey guys, can anyone help explain why the acronym prices after excluding VAT on end clothing are higher than other EU sites?

    For example:

A J28-k jacket is 1015USD (717GBP) after ex VAT, whereas other EU sites are doing the same jacket for around 620GBP..

For those who have shopped at end before, their after VAT prices usually reflect what acronym or other sites in the EU have. Perhaps they are marking up this time or a glitch with their system? Feels kinda odd to me...

    Thanks in advance guys... :)

Couple of things - could be their currency exchange?

Their vat may be different?  I think the UK is 20% vs Germany's 19.

Despite MSRP, there are small variances in pricing because of country specific differences.

  11. Had a sizing question for the J1A-GT, hoping some of you who own the piece can help me out. I'm about 5'9-5'10 and ~140lbs. Thinking a Small, but could feasible fit a Medium. I live in Canada so definitely want to have the jacket accommodate layering and some Interops action as well. Any thoughts on best size?

I second the small.  I'm 5'7 140 and the small is great on me, definitely allows for layering.

Dude, less than 1% of package shipped through regular post are checked by custom (I have this info from a USPS executives). Private carriers make sure to hit you with appropriate duties because it allows them to charge an admin fee. USPS doesn't even anywhere near the resources necessary to assess every packages and it is widely known that the chances of getting hit are beyond slim.

You guys are both right.  Everything does go through customs, and 1% of regular post items are checked by custom - but that's because of their declared value.  I'm not sure what the de minimis threshold is (in Canada its 60-80 dollars); I'm sure its higher in the US.  Every package above the de minimis threshold will get assessed duties because it is worth the time investment to process it.  99.9% under the threshold will not.  And you are right, private carriers assess duties to justify their brokerage/handling fees.

Ogam is talking about letter of the practise; you're talking about business practicalities.

  12. From people who did this often how quickly does acrnm.com ship orders out?

If you buy during downtime, within a couple business days. From a big release it can take longer - like a week or so..for me anyway

  13. I wish I could get a copy of any Veilance catalogue at all.

Too bad that Arcteryx PR keeps insisting that they don't exist, I ask for them every year. I mean after all that hype I've been spreading here and elswhere it kinda sucks...

Oh man, they had them just hanging out on a stand at the Vancouver flagship.  If I had known people wanted one,I would have taken a couple.

The staff doesn't care; half of them don't even know anything about veilance anyway.

  14. Didn't realise the price difference is that much between different places.. But I'll have a look on it; thank you Caligari!

It's rough but Veilance has really bad resale value, especially for non-Canadian purchases.

For a brand that has as much quality as AV does, it kinda makes me sad that resale isn't better.

  15. The Actuator have been around for multiple seasons, and its' design is quite simple.

Arris on the other hand is brand new, and has associated RND costs etc.  The design looks to be much more complicated as the hoody style pockets have zippers now, with an interesting waist cuff design.

There's also no official page and all the online stores seem to vary in price.

IMO the align shell is a much better deal as the hood and collar are independent units, with zippered chest and side pockets.

    There's no official page?  http://veilance.arcteryx.com/ProductFind.aspx?language=EN&CMPID=Google|veilance%20arcteryx|p|77866725085|c|&gclid=CI7Ixq_kh8sCFQsPaQodk0YP8A

And veilance (like many other brands) is getting more expensive every season, not necessarily to do with associated RND costs.  Look at the pricing of the monitor LT; it's gone up the last 2 years.
