Belts

Beautiful Duke. Love the design — striking, interesting, eye-catching, yet symmetrical and not over the top or flashy. Though probably too advanced in years to commission a belt like this, I’m tempted.

Great color combo b_F. As you know, I’m a little less resolute on Resolute than you, though I love the texture, color, and softness of the denim.

Thanks Darren -- love the jacket and soft collar, very warm. Runs kind of big, by the way.

Not lumpy at all. Great looking coat JDelage.

^ Didn't realize the inseams are shorter now. My first FC pair was an 1108 in 36x36 (still have it but don't wear it), followed by the 1101 and 0105 in both 33x36 and 34x36.

Cold Summer, the 1108 is a trim fit through the hips and thighs, no doubt. You may want to try the 1101 or 0105 -- both more forgiving in this area.

I hadn't worn Fullcount jeans for a few months and put on the 1105 this morning. I'm posting because I'm reminded how soft Fullcount's denim is. In terms of comfort and feel against the skin, there's nothing in my experience that quite compares. I love several other brands (e.g., Ooe, Warehouse), but FC really seems to have the magic when it comes to the softness of the fabric.

That’s a dish I’m not familiar with. Is it a b_F creation and how did it turn out? Most important, did the baby smile at the aroma, if not the taste? (too young, I’m guessing ;-)

I’m wearing the same model and size today too. Like em, but the leg twist on mine puts the seam in the middle of the back of my left calf. On a trim pair of jeans like the 710, I can feel the pull and twist.

For a wool sweater, it’s soft, in part due to the relatively loose weave. But I only wear it over a long sleeve shirt, so I can’t say for sure. If I want to wear a sweater directly over skin (arms or body), I’m going cashmere ;-)

Beautiful belts and buckles Duke.
Not sure why, but well made, interesting belts are not easy to find.

I love the sweater. Beautifully made, relatively loose weave, very comfortable, but, yes Broark, quite warm.
I'm a 17 in FW shirts and an L in the sweater would be fine, but I wear it over a shirt and t-shirt, so went with 44/XL -- no regrets.

Two lumpers! Good to know I'm not the only one who's tempted to double (or triple) up -- justified with jeans, not so much with leather jackets.

^ Weston 180 loafers?

Nice purchases Broark and JDelage. I have the Foreman in blue -- very nice. Also have the Army Officer Trousers. Very similar to the M-1941 Chinos, but even more generous, especially in the thighs. Here are the comparative measurements (from McFly) for size 34. I wish I had the M-1941 instead.
Army Officer / M-1941
Waist: 36.8" / 36.6"
Rise: 12.4" / 12"
Thigh: 15.5" / 14.4"
LO: 8.5" / 8/3"

^ Broark, you mentioned that these are the M-1942 chinos. Are these the same as the Army Officer Trousers (264681)? I see that there's also an M-1941.

^ Nice Broark. Anyone have a timeline on the OA03XX-BS? Maybe the 1927 Cone model will come first, not sure.

Burlap shorts, a rope belt, and no shoes Maynard ;-)

Nice fit b_F. Those back pockets make my Freewheelers 1944-45 look symmetrical.
Do they come in size 35?

Thanks Duke. You introduced me (and others) to FW. The fun of this hobby for me, as much as the clothes themselves, is to discover companies like Freewheelers and the people who run them, as well as those here who appreciate what they're doing. I've only scratched the surface and wish I were younger so I could wear out more FW clothes ;-)

^ The fit is interesting in that the hips and thighs are roomy, but the waist comes in -- so warning to older muffintops, myself included. There is tapering below the knee, which is nice. Other than the fact that they're a good-fitting pair of jeans, I'm impressed with the level of custom manufacturing. Again, from FW:
"Yes, buttons made of iron are custom manufactured. Rivets as well.
For other points… custom-made warp & weft for the fabric, and special cotton threads for sewing is also made only for us.
Leather patches, red tabs… every materials for the jeans are custom manufactured.
We’re just making them because there’s no satisfactory materials in the market.
If they’re available in the market, we’ll buy them and use them. It’s more easy, and it means we can price products much cheaper.
Hope you understand that to use custom manufactured materials isn’t absolutely wonderful, amazing thing.
To make products which make us (and you!) satisfied is much more important.
It is the purpose."

I may do just that. Will look through recent posts to get a sense of the various designs. You do large rhinestones surrounded by gold leaf, right? ;-)
