  1. How Long is a Chinese man. Lol

But seriously that shirt is killer and I love that you guys included the info on the model's sizing. I'm curious as to why he didn't wear the large if he'd prefer it. Did you guys just not want to waste inventory by washing a large for him?

  2. So a Levi's 501 STF in size 31x34 would fit me perfectly.

    I'm looking at this Levi's on ebay it's a 1947 special edition?

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Levis-501-special-edition-LVC-engraved-30X34-Classic-with-certificate-and-tags-/261559937204?pt=US_CSA_MC_Jeans&hash=item3ce62fe8b4

I don't think it's LVC but I contacted the seller and asked a few questions and he/she responded with this:

width is 30 and length is 34. I'm not sure if the jeans are unsanforized or Sanforized since i never wear or wash it. It said 100% cotton on the tag.

I don't think he/she actually measured with a ruler or measuring tape and just read the label, so should I assume vanity sizing? Do you think it's sanforized? Would they shrink up in the wash? What do you guys think?

  3. If you don't get all the shrink out with a wash or soaks before, the combs will reset when you finally do wash them. That might look weird.

Also it's good to keep in mind that it will only stretch in places that are met with stress. So inseam length, thighs, and calves won't let out, unless you specifically stand there and tug at them while wet again,

  4. Well I gave up on trying to make the jeans fit. I tried to wear them out today but they kept sliding down to my hips, giving me a Biebs swag drop crotch thing. That's when I realized my rookie mistake, size for where the waistband is going to sit...oh well you live and learn. They've shipped to my brother in Arizona who should actually fit them and he sounded excited. So at least good came from it, and the pants will be worn...but damn!

  5. So my LVC 1878 Pantaloons from Vente-privee came today. Before soaking I turned them inside out to check out the rest of the jean when I noticed the selvedge on both seams were like frayed or a bit destroyed.

Perhaps it was a factory defect (which is most likely why I was able to get them for $70)

Anyway they're drying right now so no fit pics yet, but I was wondering if I should bother taking these to a tailor to get the edges touched up. I mean it stays clean near the area where I'd cuff so there's no visual problem really. But tell me your thoughts if you want.

  6. Very well put, Aries. I'm pretty bad at making any sense usually so I'm glad you understood my sentiment. lol

What I meant by "self" though isn't exactly identifying by any given set of titles. I'm thinking more like the distancing of yourself from being seen as JUST those, and instead letting your personality, interests, and interactions with others say more about you than YOU can say for yourself.

And I like your point about the performances and altering of behavior depending on the situation. I suppose one does assume various different identities.

Are you a professor? Because I feel like I'm in the lecture hall lol. Thanks for your response. I enjoy reading yours around here

  7. Your whole second paragraph totally gets me going. I cannot stand seeing stuff like "Americana style Inspiration" fashion albums. Every now and then I come across people here in SoCal drop mad money on heavy wools, 2-3 layers, and big expensive boots when they work like a 9-5 desk job lol. And what's the point? Practically cooking yourself to look "old timey pacific northwestern lumberjack?" What's the point of identifying AS an aesthetic? Who wants to identify as some genre over themselves?
