  1. You might be able to find those at some obscure rakuten shops.

Have you given any thought to the sc2009?

It's just a hair heavier at 12oz and somewhat more available, I might also mention a good deal slimmer cut than typical Okinawa/Hawaii/1947 cuts.

  2. I have both, although I have yet to wear in the 16oz. It seems pretty substantial and tightly woven. From all I can gather the 16oz is quite literally just a heavier pioneer denim. The fading properties, weave, really everything is very similar, even the weight is barely noticeable to be heavier.

  3. Yeah so about that month and a half old post... Haha.

B_F and Ben got my point across pretty well. I might add that generally, and I try not to generalize but here I am, many redditors are new to the game. I know when I was new, mystery weavers, crazy slub, heavy weight was how I knew or assumed a pair was different, high quality, and thus "worth the money". I'd say these attributes are favored at Reddit by the vast majority of users, and when combined with the ultimately modern and slim fits which are favored by many there, tanuki seems to be a perfect match.

Let's move this back to the tanuki thread now that Mike has created it.

  4. I have a pair of 634SR which I believe is the same denim as the UHR. I love the vivid blue and it is probably my favorite pair ever. They fit slightly better(looser) everywhere than a 634s and pockets are functional. Stitching is the best of both worlds in that it's super thick but still cotton. Rodeo bros might still have stock of some mpukas, if those seem to be more up your alley.

  5. I was kicking around the idea of the 737 awhile back too. That might be up your alley too Ben. Little bit higher rise on that one. Rivet and hide and japan holic were the only places I was able to find it though.

Sorry to derail the thread, carry on.

  6. My 1101's are probably my favorite fitting pair at the moment. Been wearing them all summer and they're just now starting to get some fading going on. I'd love to see what max can do to a pair.

  7. I think I've grown fatigued with the "workwear" aesthetic. As I see RgT's new fw16 drop, I cant help but think - perfect, more flannels. It's taken me quite awhile to realize how much workwear was in my wardrobe from all different makers, USA and Japan, and I guess I never really wondered why so much focus on this type of clothing. These types of clothes aren't the only things that can be made well and to last. Granted, there's only so much one can do with a shirt/fabric without taking on some weirdo, high fashion, robert gellar shit, but companies like FH can so some cool fabric tweaking.

As I've had to move to more office appropriate attire, Ive had to move on from flannels, boots, workshirts, etc. I'm diggin the kind of 60's ivy league vibe that warehouse and full count dabble in, and have a few jeans and shirts from both. Any other Japanese makers that go this route instead of so much workwear? Anyone have experience with kamakura shirts?

    Okay, rant over :P
