  1. Wearing a damir turtleneck and obscur leather (it's cold in Wisconsin...)

Without the leather: "you look like a photographer",

"you look like you're going to a poetry slam" etc. etc. all day

With the leather (only one comment all day): "you look like a scary ass m/f."

Should mention I was black on black on black. I'm kind of taking the whole scary thing as a compliment.....

  2. so, by your logic if I created a clothing brand where every garment was inspired by a picture of dogshit, it would be underrated because its a totally unique aesthetic entirely different than anything else out there?

Obvi not lol. Not everything is affected by some universal truth that applies to every scenario. But you can't say that the two aren't ridiculously creative, something that shouldn't be undermined as overrated; even if you dislike the designs you can't discount the ideas. If anything, there should at least be a little respect.

Also, dog s/t is gross, but grunge cowboys and futuristic medieval hunters (those are the best categorizations I could think of) are cool.

  3. Rick owens, takahiro miyashita the soloist, cloak basically fashion rn

I can sort of understand Rick (not that I necessarily agree), but The Soloist and Cloak both had/have totally unique aesthetics that are entirely different than anything else out there.  If anything, the two are underrated.

  4. Totally stealing this from Zeitgeist, but it's a great thread over there, and will probably work just as well here.  Just post what people do when they see some of your more, shall we say, risqué clothing.  Compliments, insults, whatever.  I guess I'll kick it off with my one of my very few encounters.

While wearing my Ann D peacoat at the bank

"Did you get that at Banana Republic?" (some random woman)

    "No, it's Ann Demeulemeester"

"You should try Banana Republic, it looks like it would be your style"

Keep in mind that I was wearing it with Zamb dnas and a1923 boots

Not sure if I should be insulted or not

  5. The title says it all, trying to find a pair of black waxed jeans, size 29-30.  Not trying to spend a lot, if there's not a super cheap option (preferably under $50) I'll just buy some Cheap Mondays or something and wax them myself.  Condition isn't an extreme issue, obviously I don't want trashed jeans, but they don't need to be brand new.
