  1. I feel like you are describing the fit that TFH excels at. I find TFH shirts to fit slim but favor an athletic build - wide shoulders that taper to a slim waist. Their shirts really are not forgiving if you have a belly or a larger build though.

Killer haul! In addition to goodies for myself, I got shirts or sweats for my wife, dad, brothers, and their wives. It’s gonna be the best pile of Christmas presents I’ve ever given.

Feels like that's the best way to get other people to appreciate the hobby. Just feeling the fabric, most people realize these garments are unlike anything they've handled before.

I've had some tremendous finds on Japanese auction and thrift sites, capturing several of my all-time grail Flat Head items recently (most of them at cheapo prices): flannel shirts, western shirts, even a deadstock pair of pin hickory pants; the first of two boxes is on its way, and I'm excited to share. Finding flannels and other items from TFH's heyday, in my size, for low prices, is about as excited as I've ever been about denim-related nerdery.

I also just got a haul of great TFH items for very cheap off of Japanese auction sites. Grabbed a great souvenir jacket for my wife as a present that I'm very excited about.

@mlwdp Thermals can definitely be difficult, my FW ones fresh out of the wash feel a little tight but stretch very quickly. I’ve been looking for the honeycomb knit ones like these, wanted to avoid RMC and the Stevenson wool ones are too warm. Might grab the grey and natural in size 4.

Curious why you want to avoid RMC? I just got a RMC thermal and I love it. Perfect fit and very comfortable with no itchiness that I've experienced with some other brands. I personally like to wear thermals on the snug side as a winter base layer, in place of a t shirt.

Did you get any shots of the interior by any chance? Store front makes it look so small! I know space is a hot commodity in Tokyo.

But there seems to be also a different fit.
The Lot 269 apparently fit 0.5 bigger than the Lot 444.
Not sure, if the styling is the same.

I don't have personal experience with the Lot 269, but Attractions uses a different last that they say has a longer toe than the last used for the Lot 444. It looks like that is what makes it fit bigger. From what I've seen, the finishing on the steerhide used for the Lot 269 results in a glossier finish that stays shiny even with wear. The Lot 444 starts out shiny but loses that glossy finish with wear resulting in a less "dressy" appearance.

  7. Got excited and multi-posted I guess. Might as well add some more info if I'm making numerous posts...

The Attractions are very stiff compared to TFH engineers, walked about 10 miles in them over the weekend without any blisters and they are starting to loosen up. The grain and texture on the leather is outstanding. Looking forward to seeing how they patina. The TFH boots have developed much more slowly than I thought they would, I have not been gentle with them at all but they still are mostly black with a few areas of tea core peeking through.

Anybody owns this Jacket "THE FLAT HEAD DENIM JACKET - 60S TYPE III", one wash

How is the experience? fit ?

whether shrunk with hot wash ?

or become slightly loose with wear?

I just got this jacket last week and haven't washed it yet so I can't say how it does with water or age quite yet. That being said, I have had TFH's type II jacket for 10 years which is made from the same Pioneer denim and it ages wonderfully. Loads of pics online if you want to see how this denim fades. Typically this will shrink a bit with a hot wash but then stretch back out to the original size in areas that get stretched - just like jeans. Washing will create some nice crinkles in the fabric on the collar and waistband which creates some really nice character.

I love the fit on these, it's a slim fitting type III that tapers from the shoulders to a pretty slim waist. The sleeves are also nice and slim which gives it a more modern feel. The body is a little bit longer than the Type II and hits just below the belt which makes it great to wear with an untucked shirt underneath. I wear these TTS - I'm 5'8", 155lbs and wear a sz 40.

Some sample pics of it fitting me. Forgive the wrinkled shirt, I untucked it for the photo...

  9. Fit is great. I wouldn't worry about anything else. That's what really matters in the end. Good fit = more wear. More wear with great denim like that will give you a pair to behold. Enjoy!

I don't think I'm cool enough to pull off a riders jacket like the Leon.

Go with your feels mate. I'll be honest, I have a Perfecto-styled jacket that doesn't get that much wear because I feel like you do. I love the look but I often feel self-conscious that people will think I'm going for that "tough guy" look.

That being said, if you won't feel self-conscious, that jacket is super versatile and much more classic looking - which may be more your style.

The James is more like a modernized cafe racer w/ a spread collar. Less classic but much more subtle. I will say that a leather jacket is a loud statement in itself so I find that more subtle may be the way to go if you feel similarly.

  11. I think it looks good Dude. That's how I like my denim jackets to fit w/ the bottom hitting right at the beltline. As long as you have full range of motion in your shoulders, it's money. That's the one dealbreaker for me, if I feel restricted - it's too tight. But if it feels good, it is good.

  12. For those of you that are into the "vintage" fades that TCB is so great for, at what point do you start washing your jeans more regularly? I like to try to keep a balance between maintaining some interesting lines/whiskers but I also love the heavily washed/dried crinkling and texture that really highlights these jeans.

I'm always tempted to start chucking 'em in the wash more often but try to hold out to maintain the lines. I think I typically try to go about 1 year+ w/ very occasional washing before I start increasing the wash frequency. Now that my 50's are approaching the 1 year mark I'm starting to think about it...

Obviously, everyone will have a different experience due to their unique wear patterns but I'm just curious as to what your methods are.

Any one have some post-soak and stretch measurements of 50's cut in either a 32 or 33.  Went way back and read the entire threat.  based on nycsurfer530 measurements on his 31 these might be what I am looking for.  I sent Inoue a DM on instagram and got sent denimo size chart which is helpful, the redcast heritage size chart but im wondering what I can expect with some wear based off what I have seen on this forum. I know denimo is one-wash and redcast is raw, just wondering what the middle ground is.

Sorta fell in love with this denim after doing my research. And, yes, I know I am being overly obsessive but this is the place for that to come out, right?

    ps

my goal is to find a high rise pair with a 32 inch waist 12 in FR, 16 BR and a 12.75-13in thigh.

    Thanks

@radfad2000 Here are measurements from my size 32 50's (washed and worn for about 6 months so this would be fully stretched out):

    Waist: 16"

    FR: 11.5"

    BR: 16"

    Thigh: 12"

    Opening: 8.5"

Hope that helps. I def recommend ordering TTS.
