  1. Hi all,

Has anyone ordered RO sneakers from both ssense.com and ln-cc.com? I need some help clarifying the UK sizing.

I have RO geos that I bought from ssense that are labeled 39 inside, but I'm confused about the difference between "European" size, IT (Italian) size, UK size, and the label inside RO sneakers. Google searches say different things.

I'm assuming since I previously ordered IT 39 and the label inside the geos said 39, that the geo label is in IT. Is this standard for all geos no matter where you buy them?

And if so, can someone confirm the IT to UK to "European" conversion?

    Thanks in advance!

  2. Has anyone ordered from Luisaviaroma recently in the states? Since they swapped from FedEx to UPS, I was wondering if anyone had to give out their SSN# upon receiving the package, or if you were contacted by customs at all requesting your SSN#?

NYC here. SSN? That sounds sketchy.  I've never had to give mine. I just sign when I receive the package.  It usually clears customs smoothly without me even knowing. There's a small delay in order processing in Italy(?), but once it's delivered it gets here very fast. In like a couple of days.  No hiccups at all.

  3. Anyone know if RO DRKSHDW Drawstring Lounge Pants size 30 will fit size 31? Or will it fit too tight? Is it better to get 32? 31 doesn't seem to be available.

It seems to be a common issue that designers skip odd size numbers (and half sizes in shoes), but they don't note if the garments are sized up, or sized in between to accommodate the skip. It's increasingly becoming an issue now that local stores don't even stock certain items for you to try on, and online shopping is continuing to grow and become the better supplied retailers these days. Such a pain in the ass.

  4. Lots of good suggestions here. I primarily wear James Perse. Super soft and highly breathable.

+1 for Perse. The Japanese cotton tees are pretty thin and drape and fit *extremely* well. I have a bunch of them. They're the best t-shirts I've ever bought I think. I have others with heavier cotton and equally soft and nice, but Perse is my favorite for the combination of fit / fabric / drape. I have to say the guy truly knows his shit.

  5. Here's mine:

    Adidas shell toe - 7.5

    Converse Chuck Taylor - 7

Cinzia Araia - 40 IT / 7 US (true to size indeed)

    Rick Owens Geobasket - 39 IT / 6 US

    Kriss van Assche 2013 Paneled Sneakers - 39 IT / 6 US

So I ended up getting a pair of 2013 RO Geobasket trainers and as I suspected it's sized a tad big, sort of like the KVAs. My actual foot length is 9.5" (small, yeah) which is literally a size 6.5 US exact, but I usually buy size 7 (Chuck Taylors) or 7.5 (Adidas shell toe) to have 3/8" to 1/2" extra toe space. I thought for sure the Geobaskets would be roomy, and since it wasn't available in half sizes I went an entire size down to 39 IT ~ 6 US. It fits like a glove all around, but still with extra toe space if you can believe it. If I got a 40 IT (straight conversion), I think it might have been too big. It's tighter than I usually get my sneakers but it's comfortable once I have my foot in. Granted that my foot is a little wider than normal, all in all I'd say it's almost a perfect fit.

For anyone wanting to get RO Geobaskets and KVAs, if you are ok with a snug fit, go a half or full size down. If you want slightly extra room, get your usual size.

  6. Agree with Enzyme X about KVA sneaks running slightly large. I got the latest KVA high tops (the ones with the zipper in the back and vertical-running side laces) in my usual size and they feel a little loose, but tolerable. I have a slightly wide foot and although the instep and arch feel snug, the interior length is a bit roomy. Lots of space in the toe box and a little bit of extra space behind the heel. Normally I have about 3/8"-1/2" extra toe space, but these have about 5/8"-3/4" extra. I think a half size down would have been better, or maybe even a full size.

  7. Sorry to resurrect this thread, but I'm also looking to get a pair of Rick Owens high top sneaks and paranoid about the sizing. I just recently picked up a pair of Kris van Assche high tops and I bought my regular size. Interestingly the shoe itself appears about as long as my other shoes (from the outside), but the insides are roomy in the front/toe area and I think I could fit an entire size less (half size definitely would fit better). So KVAs I think are sized slightly big.

Does anyone have new KVAs and Rick Owens?

edit: we have a Footwear Sizing Discussion thread. use it.
