  1. HC-SF-103 Samurai S5000vx 25oz 25th anniv

One month update and of course not much of a progress. Denim becoming softer and a beginning of a fade can be seen only in the sunlight. (The little one wanted to be in on the picture as well)

  2. I do not have the IH 25, only 19 and 21oz. But usually IH have a smoother feel. The Samurai 25oz were quite hairy which I did not expect but liked.

And for the buttons, yes they get much easier after a couple of days. First day the thumbs will be sore but after that no problem.

  3. Post soak fit pictures of the S5000vx 25oz size 30. Some hip flare but hopefully that will settle with time as the fabric softens.

Regarding sizing down 2 I would not recommend it. I sized down 1 and going down one more size I think would be very hard. Would be fine with a lighter denim like 14oz but from my experience it is much harder to stretch the heavier fabrics.

    The measurements are as following:

                                Pre soak               Post soak

    Waist                   79cm / 31†           79cm / 31†(waist not soaked)

    Front rise             26cm / 10.25†      24.5cm / 9.5â€

    Back rise              35.5cm / 14†        35cm / 13.75â€

    Upper Thigh         29cm / 11.5†        29cm / 11.5â€

    Knee                    23cm / 9†             22.5cm / 8.8â€

    Leg opening        21.5cm / 8.5†       21cm / 8.25â€

    Inseam                 92cm / 36.25†      89.5cm / 35.25â€

  4. Finally got my S5000vx 25oz in size 30. I must say that the fabric did not feel as stiff as I expected, feels surprisingly soft. But I guess they will stiffen up after the soak. I choose not to soak the waist so I have a fair chance to button the really stiff buttons while new. Here are the pre soak measurements:

    Waist: 31" 79cm

    Front Rise: 10.25" 26cm

    Back rise: 14" 35.5cm

    Upper Thigh: 11.5" 29cm

    Knee: 9" 23cm

    Leg Opening: 8.5" 21.5cm

    Inseam: 36.25" 92cm

And here are the pictures Pre Soak:

  5. Gave my Samurai s5000VX 21oz a 60 degree machine wash after 4 months of wear. I noticed that they started to smell when it rained the other day so I decided that it was time for a wash.

  6. From experience the Skulls stretch a lot, to original unwashed size and beyond. My experience with 5010xx are: if they are hard to button when new they will be fine in the long run, if they fit comfortably when new they will end up too big and only fit directly after washing.

  7. I wear the same size 30 in booth Skull 5010XX and S5000VX so I think you should be fine in a w33. I am an inch shorter than you and cuff about 1.5 inch after 2 initial hot soaks, so the length should be no problem. But I do believe that the Skulls are a bit longer in the legs. In IH 461S I wear a w31, from what I remember they fitted me tighter in the waist than booth the Skulls and Samurais.
