  1. -Have a Seattle Sufu meetup with at least 5 people

-Adjust sleep schedule to wake up at 7AM each day

-Go to the gym 4 days a week

-Apply, secure, and commute to a second job in downtown Seattle

-Turn that second job into my new full-time job

-Earn enough to move out and find a house with roommates or a small apartment

-Continue to try new recipes while baking and cooking

-Purchase more Stone Island Shadow Project and experiment with the PARSEQ system

-Take the train to Vancouver to visit Haven, Inventory and the Vancouver sufu members

-First Seattle meetup was with 4 people, but I'm sure we'll have another

-Waking up at 8AM everyday, cooking breakfast, and getting to work 15 mins early

-Exercise has been slipping. Once I am up at 7 I will be running.

-Applying to Totokaelo, and debating whether or not to work part-time and go back to school

-Looking at apartments in Seattle with a roommate candidate

    -Baking continues

-SISP losing interest. Single, brand-based goal kind of short sighted.

-Vancouver meetup set for May 31/June 1!

  2. I'm feeling a little bit like Outlier's offerings are losing my interest. I still love my climbers and, in fact, just went on a weekend trip with two pair of them. However, I can't shake the feeling that when I go on their website I would have to force myself to buy something because it's a well-made, basic product rather than something that would pull me to their website.

Is this just Outlier's niche and I am outgrowing them, and do other people want to see more experimental (which, of course, probably means less profitable) offerings from them?

  3. Galaxy S3 Mini has been treating me well. Not using it for anything too crazy. Calls, text, directions, movie times, browsing, tumblr, insta, etc. but everything works nicely and I like the interface a great deal. Easy to find things in the Google Play store, and the widgets remind me of the mini game from the mega-man handheld games, where your "deck" of bonuses was composed of how many individual shapes you could puzzle piece together.

  4. So we have 4 people posting thus far. Want to make tenative plans to meet on the weekend three weeks out (may 31st and/or june 1st)? Should give people enough time to say if they have conflicts and move things around.

  5. Sira grey is a great color. For anyone considering the Cargo LT, though, be aware that the light khaki/stone color portrayed on the website is INCORRECT. Definitely darker tan, closer to a casual khaki color your dad would wear to work.

  6. Hahaha. Haven't had a fryer to experiment with, but I'm sure there's plenty of places in Vancouver to get deepfried delicacies, yeah? And I could try to be a good drinking buddy buy honestly I don't drink, so anyone who attended might end up babysitting me unless we have enough people where we'd want a DD.

  7. Seeing acid mothers at chop suey on Sunday. Still looking to visit Vancouver, though. Anyone interested in picking an upcoming weekend for a sufu meetup? Still willing to bring baked goods, go running, and generally hang out in the city.

  8. Trying to send out the same offer that I made to the Vancouver group. Talked with Bruised, owner of Trichome in Seattle, and he's interested in hosting a sufu meetup for the greater pacific northwest at some time in the future. I know there's members on here from Woodlands/Tanner, yeah? Always thought you guys ran a nice business and it'd be cool to talk shop regarding small business/generally hang out in the Seattle area if anyone is interested. Trichome is a super easy walk from the the Kings Street train station in Seattle, no more than 5 blocks.

Also throwing out the idea for a superfuture swap meet, if not this time the next. A lot of us seem to end up with surplus clothing/music/movies and instead of having the same old shit sit around our residences we could at least have new old shit sitting around! Just a thought. Hope Portland's treating everyone well.

  9. As far as I can tell, the bag is fine. I ended up choosing the 3A-6TS because the nomadic idea of being able to carry everything important enough to own in a bag seemed pretty cool (clothing, toiletries, phone, wallet). Honestly, though, all the articles of clothing I would pack into would have a significantly lower weight to volume ratio than a pile of magazines. Will continue to use/abuse and report back.

On the topic of modulation: best consumer grade solar panel out there that I could attach to the MOLLE webbing? I know bagjack makes/made one and Bodega still has the 3A-MSOL1 (but I was suspecting the solar tech is dated, even if the aesthetic consistency is nice).

  10. Acronym bags can handle a lot, but yesterday I went downtown and stocked up on magazines from Trichome/Totokaelo. I was carrying a full water bottle, baked goods, and headphones that were all adding additional weight, and when I went to lift up my 3A-6TS with the strap, as I usually would, I heard a bad sound that I thought could be the stitching tearing out from the support point for the strap system. Upon returning home and inspecting the bag, that sound can be produced by the velcro attachment of the inner liner slowly separating from the interior wall of the bag. I intend not to overload the bag whenever possible, but I were to pull a strap loose from the bag  is there anyone who has suggestions on reattaching the strap to the bag? I'm worried that, if that happened, the resulting tear/hole may compromise the integrity of the entire bag.

  11. Tried on the Voronoi and Cargo LT again in hopes of being able to purchase either. Might just have to resign myself to wearing some sort of minimal web belt with the cargos as they are absolutely fantastic and I want them.

Also, sad to report that veilance pants have no room for tailoring due to their taped seams. Seems like a silly oversight, but at the same time they aren't making dress slacks so I have no right to complain.

  12. Very odd collision of work and interests that I never expected today. Had a sales rep show up with water repellent fleece, and we decided to stock some of their product for the upcoming fall/winter season. Took it outside, poured water on it, and it worked incredibly well. Water rolled right off. also, for those on a budget, there's a lot of jackets that should end up being less than $100. http://climescape.com/

They claim to have modified their fabrics using nanotechnology, thereby sidestepping DWR treatments. And to "recharge" water repellency, all you need to do is iron it. I'm not at a level of scientific knowledge where I can determine whether this is just jargon or not, but my basic product test definitely confirmed that the garments were extremely water repellent.

  13. Went to the downtown Seattle Arc'teryx store a few weeks back and tried on what they had for spring. I don't think there's been a single time trying on in person hasn't helped the decision-making process immensely.

    My favorites:

The Field Jacket in Fjord Blue: The fit is trimmer than the winter season Field Jacket, in line with layering less clothing underneath the jacket. The trimmer fit is a significant improvement for me, and the map pocket angling doesn't bother me as much in person. Great veilance detailing with hidden pockets, slide and lock buttons arranged diagonally for cuff closure, and the hidden hood packs easily.

Blazer in Black: The traditional notch lapel was more appealing to me than the slimmer, almost shawl/notch lapel hybrid on the FW13/14 blazer. Fit well, and I think it could work nicely with both dress shirts or a t-shirt due to the material choice.

Actuator in Coal: Stupidly simple jacket, yet everything about it screams practical. Fit beautifully.

SS Frame T-shirt in Nightfall: Fabric feels great, trim fit, and the design across the shoulders + underarm gusseting looked great on. Emphasizes shoulders whether or not you happen to be built, which is a handy optical illusion I suppose.

The lack of a size 29 waist means that, unless they leave in extra fabric for tailoring and I find someone who can tailor technical garments effectively, I can't wear Veilance pants. Checking on options in my area as far as that's concerned. The Voronoi short was in stock, but wasn't a terribly impressive piece to me.

  14. Headed to Trichome, the Arc'teryx store, and the general downtown area this Sunday or Monday. If anyone is interested in hanging out/has an idea of something fun to do I'm down. I know rock climbing was suggested at one point, there's a lot of good places to eat, etc. I was planning on bussing but if anyone wants a ride PM me and we can try to work something out.
