SuFu absolutely murdering the recent purchases.

Desu, that was a post that I found well-written and certainly resonates with me in some ways. I work at a traditional menswear store but I prefer the SuFu aesthetic outlook.
This phrase struck me, and the difference between what you wrote and how a similar phrase would be written best explains the culture of SuFu that I have experienced.: "As a community, where I have always had great affection for Super Future is in it's willingness to treat the stupidity involved in fashion for what it is, ignore it, and enjoy what makes the industry great. I guess I have been away from Sufu too long."
The SuFu of today sees the stupidity involved in fashion, but no longer ignores it. SuFu is now one of the few places where people are unapologetic about calling others out. SuFu is unbridled honesty from most users, especially when it comes to rep. I personally think that it needs to be. Honesty as a value is being constantly degraded and when I come upon it, even when it is negative, it is a welcome addition to my day.
Not all of SuFu hates the #menswear aesthetic. But it is hard not to hate the attitude that now goes along with it. Consumerism is being pushed hard by magazines in the menswear vein (see GQ) and the juvenile lingo is perpetuated by Four Pins. Why couldn't a person be handsome? Why did they have to be crispy?
Honestly, #menswear wouldn't be nearly as bad if it weren't so clear that so many people are desperate to fit in and will throw money at that problem rather than thought. The society that we live in perpetuates this phenomena, but in clothing especially it shows and it is not flattering. My favorite WAYWT posters are always people who have an established sense of personal style that I believe they established through thought and experimentation.
Finally, I think there are a lot of people on here who do have an appreciation for the craftsmanship that goes into well made clothing (whether that be denim, menswear, of high fashion). However, its rough to see those products on people who have not educated themselves on clothing but use their money to purchase it anyway. In the same way that car lovers cringe as some wealthy dumbass wrecks his Bugatti, so SuFu cringes at a birds of Givenchy Birds of Paradise tee, Rick Owens layered under it, and Raf Holographic Hightops on a 16 year old. The collective feeling is that you haven't earned it, you don't know what you are doing, and you are ruining it for the rest of us.

Going to head down to Ballard and check out the new Blackbird oxfords. From pictures they look nice but sizing is always my issue.

So I understand that the Flyknits are well liked by the community. They get a lot of love in WAYWT, Nike thread, etc. However, I haven't seen people discussing that this is an incredible technological feat that has the potential to turn at least a portion of Nike's business away from manufacturing their shoes in unethical conditions. As the flyknits are manufactured by machines, there are no humans to be exploited in the process. It also fits in with Phil Knight's often repeated idea that Americans (which could and should be expanded to humans in general) don't want to make Nike shoes. Thoughts?

Its sad how few people understand the personal and ethical ramifications of "you get what you pay for." The price you pay for an item of clothing reflects manufacturing costs (significantly higher if workers are not exploited but rather choose that line of work), quality of materials used, the cost of paying sales associates, the cost of owning a store, heating a store, and equipping a store.
When I purchase clothing, I always examine where it was made and what it is made out of. I think I am significantly happier with my clothing for that. I have a great pair of jeans from the twin cone mills and heavyweight chinos from Blackbird (in house label and W+H) that I can see lasting me at least three years. I have two pairs of Outlier pants that are holding up great and whose construction represents the fabrics of the future. I own a great deal of socks from Marciolani, which remains an Italian family business.
Yet despite my personal experience with these products, despite the companies who make a conscious choice to produce longer lasting goods ethically, how many customers have I watched turn away from similar products or talk about where they buy visually similar products for less and seem victorious because, for them, price reigns supreme. I have to wonder if it is that difficult to exist with less variety, less exploitation, and greater quality.

How do you guys find the overall construction of Outlier products, in terms of durability? I admired the brand for being decent quality at their previous price point, but since the hike, I'm not sure...
Now this is something worth discussing. I am a big proponent of having products made where you live, but the belt loops on my Outlier climbers are sub-par. As pants, they are outstanding, but having loose threads on what seems like every loop is disappointing.
Button on the slim dunagrees feels like it could have been made .5-1 cm shorter as it sticks out too much and ends up leaning to the side oddly.
However, my experience with their merino t-shirt and henley are made up of happiness. Only the pants have room for improvement in the quality control/design department.

First coat is beautifully minimalistic, and going by the past siki im offerings that have come through Blackbird probably quite luxe.

I keep getting messages about people needing to change their address due to shipping time. I am trying to get this all figured out. I am sorry for the delay.

And there go the size 30 for both pants. Well played those of the small waist.

D'aw. Arthur is a show that has managed to stick with me. As a kid it was always a show where each episode felt fresh and had a purpose. I learned a lot about why people develop and maintain different personalities just by watching. Plus, where else do you get dialogue this entertaining in a kids show?
I mean, come on. Apparently they had an episode on blogging at some point.
I fondly remember episodes that had elements of childhood fears like the fire drill and Halloween ghost episode, and who can forget the infamous lima bean can when Arthur goes to the dump despite his parent's warnings and then lies because he is scared? It made an effort to address the issues that kids would deal with at some point and the things that would help them.
Some of the images alone from this show make me laugh because I can only hope to imagine the plotline that has lead up to them.
As a final sidenote: whenever Arthur wears a fake beard I thought he looked angry.

Sometimes you just want to watch something happy. And I feel kind of silly, but this is most definitely where the travelocity gnome idea came from, right?

Due to my forgetfulness, absolutely. I will wait on the payment of those who thought they were going to not be accommodated, but like last time having it in by Monday would be appreciated.

I knew there was someone I still needed to talk to! Nagging thought in the back of my head. I talked to them and they can make hats in a size 7, but they did not put that on my order form for whatever reason. They actually go down to 6. Please PM me your info Lendo and lets get this taken care of ASAP.

I am infatuated with their short trench, but I just don't see myself spending 1K+ on a jacket at this point in my life. Post-college, maybe. Ebay/Supermarket/Rakuten 'til then.

Imagine when they found out Virgin Mary was doing lines in the pickup.

Okay guys. The final three stragglers are mfd00m, lowk, and Forest Fire. I would like to place the order tomorrow, so payment needs to come in this evening. You were given warning via this thread that I would like to have had payment in this weekend, and it is now midweek.

Cross post from random fashion thoughts. What's good Public School.

Their shoes for this collection are sick, they worked with a color palette I think a lot of us here like, and I found myself loving multiple individual pieces definitely.
Leather sleeve, straight cut bottom blazer/jacket was sick as fuck.
This is going to be a lot more than most people should attempt, but I love the lines of the coat, the red denim jacket (though maybe not popping the collar as shown, and I like the scarves with wide brim hats. I kind of want to try out wide brim hats in general.
Is anyone surprised that I love this? Fucking sick MA-1.
GQ, despite being an awful source of advice, does do a great job of getting images up of the fashion shows.

Limited to 100, right? Best of luck to all who try to acquire those.
I just got these after walking around downtown Seattle for a long time and pretty much loving life because my vans were so comfy, and now I wanted more...
