  1. These things shrinks guys, don't forget!

The Medium was really large on me until I washed it and it now fits great. Seriously, the difference is significant, especially in length overall and length of the arms.

  2. @donburi I almost never wash pants so these haven't had a cycle yet. Doubt it'll change much given the synthetic nature of that fabric. Totally love them though. Best ACR pants ever IMHO.

  3. From my side I've had nothing but trouble with the old plastic zipper. It got stuck very easily for me and the new one does not. Errolson did at some point mention these were meant as "improved zippers".

  4. Got my order a few days ago. J29-CH and P10-CH are really awesome. Better fit in my case than the GT and S respectively. Left handed 3A is super nice and T-Shirt has great silhouette. Less crazy stand-out and more sweating details this around. Good.

Oh and yes, phone pocket is slightly bigger to accommodate a 6 perfectly.

  5. Good points markdjr. Some more considerations:

    - Don't forget how large and well-know Stone Island is especially compared ACR. I'm willing to bet more people know Shadow because of SI than because of ACR.

    - It seems selling as much as possible has never been much of a consideration for ACR. It would seem they are striking a balance between quality, their independence, commercial concerns and the desire to remain at least somewhat underground.

  6. So people are allowed to look for Errolson-designed Nike ACG gear in this thread, but not allowed to look for Errolson-designed Stone Island?

I don't mind either way, but it's inconsistent to allow one and not the other.

Errolson doesn't design Stone Island main line. Only the shadow project range. The tortoise camo stuff is main line, and thus fits better in the tech wear section.

  7. Fully second Misanthropod's opinion of the 8TS. Daily work bag for laptop, iPad, sunglasses, H1 and SM1, chargers, and personal bits & bobs. It has room to spare to stuff a J32 when not in use. After 4 years it still looks great. Lid sustained a coffee spill and the interior could do with a bit of a cleaning but it's nowhere close to end of life, nor do I feel like moving on. Pleasing indeed.

  8. I'll be giving the pants a try and grab a t-shirt. The sweater possibly. Agreed with Jon on the shiny backpack, though it's otherwise neat. The outwear will give a whole bunch of people their first exposure to Errolson's vision and skill with tech-fabrics, probably at a price-point that's lower than ACR itself. That's a good thing, even if it is daily routine for most of us here.

  9. So the SFBs seemed like an obvious choice for ACG. I'm hoping there will be a middle layer using the 3D knit stuff, like on the last Gyakusou drop. I'd kill for a (hoodless) cardigan like that, to go under any ACR or Veilance jackets (which already have hoods mostly). A base layer of some kind would be nice too. Some sweatmap style stuff adapted for urban use perhaps?

  10. Trisa: awesome but the site is pretty hard to understand. Can't seem to find a way of buying the jacket nor find out its size. Any thoughts anyone? Anyone local to Hong Kong?

  11. sp@rks: No pics, but if you like it bulky, get your regular size. If you like it regular fit (not even slim fit), you're probably fine sizing down one step. A small fits great on me whereas I'm firmly a medium otherwise.

  12. British Millerain Waxed Cotton? Certainly looks like it.

Anyone have any insight as to what the YKK snaps on the back of the interior pockets on the J40 are for? Don't see anything called out in the specs or shown in the stock photos. Insert gratuitous 'pending firmware upgrade' comment here ;)

Simple. Sling the jacket, making sure it folds neatly between the two pockets. The snaps should now align and allow you to snap the two pockets together. This encloses the sling in between the two pockets. This keeps the slung jacket in place more neatly and also allows for quick access to the pockets while slung, due to the double zippers. It's really quite a neat system.

Kind of hoping this will become a standard feature for the future.

  13. Ok got my stuff yesterday. Went all in with the new CH.

This has none of that squishy neoprene-like feel. It's cloth but very unlike any other material ACR has used. It indeed feels very substantial with subtle stretch (when worn the stretch seems to be horizontal only). It feels like it will hard wearing as advertised but of course only time can tell.

It's treated with cold black as mentioned earlier and feels quite breathable. Taking it on a hike right now, so we'll see.

J40-CH: liking the design. The internal pocket clip together when slung and have zippers on both ends. Very smart. The collarless design really looks different and make for easy layering fx with my J32. Shoulder construction works as advertised.

P16-CH: pants are wider than the P14 overall. More like a P8 perhaps but wider. I had ordered a medium and was afraid it wouldn't fit, due to the P14s new sizing. For whatever that's worth, the medium P16 did fit me but only just. Haven't compared them directly but seems the P16 isn't as high waisted as the P14. Pockets are like P14. The CH makes it pretty silent too.

S6C: nice well constructed sweatshirt with nice shoulder action. Nothing earth-shattering though. Note that the sleeves are on the long side. Covers my whole hand if I want it to.

    Pretty happy with my choices!

  14. Syphron: I think the hem being small is part of the "kinetic design". Call me crazy but when I'm wearing my P14 it seems that there is a kind of air "cushion" inside the pant that makes movement feel more smooth. Without a small hem, that probably wouldn't be there. Read the Balenciaga article he posted on Twitter a while back. I commented on it at the time:

    https://twitter.com/taospace/status/407321656953012224

That was well before the P14 was released.

Could just be coincidence of course.

  15. On microtwill: As I understand it, it is basically like Nomex. Very tough.

On softshells: The microtwill is the softshell option this season. It has stretch, supposedly. Can do a quick report on it tonight probably.
